## Updates (DAOhaus Universe)

- Getting close to deploying NFT banks for Moloch DAOs to collectively buy, collect, and sell NFTs
- Planning a design sprint to focus on the *meta* for DAOhaus — working on the personal hub/homepage
- Last week of September will be design sprint to improve this experience
- [PoolHAUS](https://medium.com/daohaus-club/poolhaus-and-decentralised-liquidity-provision-ced87ffe656) launched on Monday — people can contribute HAUS/wETH LP tokens from [Swapr](https://swapr.eth.link/)

## DoinGud Introduction

- Touches on many things: "creator economy, social impact, decentralized governance and art — everything coming together into one mashy guacamole", but what can be done with DoinGud today, and what can be done tomorrow?
- Platform hasn't launched yet — currently working with auditors and will be launching after audits are finished and reviewed
- Will be limited at launch (not the full platform vision) and then will be progressively decentralizing
- Initially, the DoinGud team are deciding on the creators and social impact organizations that are included in the registry, but after the token distribution event the governance would be transferred to the community, and the community can decide who onboards, social impact, etc.
- **DoinGud is a platform for creators to express themselves, and by expressing themselves they'll make positive impact**
- NFT explosion → any type of content created can be tokenized, and creators can decide what percent of NFT sale fee goes to a social impact organization
- Creators won't be donating money to social impact organizations from their own pockets
- Donation a percent of their creations → streamed into the social cause
- Creator chooses the social cause they want to distribute to
- Prefer term "creator" over "artist" — *everyone* is a creator with something to give, whereas the term "artist" has a more narrow perception
- Engineers are also artists in a way — expressing themselves through code
- Creations could be photos taken with a phone, video, personal work of art, animations, and beyond! — Goal is for creators to be able to tokenize *any type of content*
- Initially starting out similar to Instagram — pictures, videos, audio, and then expand into other mediums

### The Platform

- Platform where creators of any type of content can become champions of causes they're interested in
- Creators may also be the creators of the social impact organization
- "One person propaganda machine for the cause they believe in"
- After talking to social impact organizations/non-profits/NGOs are run by creators — there isn't currently a bridge between the creator economy and the social impact economy
- DoinGud is creating a bridge between these economies
- New type of economy is "The Giving Economy" — by giving the creator earns and also does something positive for humanity
- NFTs have a *social layer* that people may not always see — for example, in a community such as CryptoPunks, ownership of that digital asset is connecting folks
- Often creators running their own social impact organizations (non-profits, NGOs) but may not necessary be able to support the costs with their creations
- DoinGud would allow creators to "have a direct line to their community"
- Not only a marketplace where creators sell their content, but also a social platform for connecting and creating value
- Similar example and alignment: Felipe working on collectibles for [The DAOist](https://www.thedaoist.co/) to scale impact for The DAOist education initiative:
- Polaroids taken during the event as actual collectibles → become videos or digital collages → people purchase these as NFTs → receive physical polaroid as well as the NFT
- What would Felipe be able to do with this once DoinGud launches?
- Would be able to upload the content and utilize different types of sale mechanics: Dutch Auction, Open Editions, English Auction, other new sell mechanics not yet in the space
- If launching on [OpenSea](https://opensea.io/) or [Rarible](https://rarible.com/) can you connect directly to DoinGud?
- Initially, may not be able to bring asset from another platform, but DoinGud will be *blockchain agnostic* — digital world will be similar to the real world where collectors buy an asset or collectible and then think about where it's stored. For example:
- When buying a Pokemon card, where will the card be stored? Book? Gallery? Vault?
- With digital assets, folks can decide which chain they want to hold their collectables/assets on: May want to hold digital assets on different chains (Ethereum, xDAI, Polygon)
- Working on creating bridges between chains to build interoperability

## DoinGud MVP

- Kickstarting the network effects that could come later — what is the most important primitive essential to the MVP?
- Want to be a platform where the people using it own everything, all the data — using [Ceramic Network](https://ceramic.network/) for this
- First thing to do is to improve this UX, and in order to improve this need to make some architectural compromises
- Initially have selected 16 creators for launch
- Has a community/mobile app called Agora where users can upload photos and compete for prices
- Will be doing a new sell mechanic — combination of 2 other sell mechanics
- Bootstrap the community by having an exhibition on the side called *Origins Exhibition*
- Will then be issuing *Creator Passes* to people bringing value, and then eventually open the community up to everyone
- Enable *anyone* to post content, but also have *curators* within the community who are curating for galleries and auction houses
- Curators can create focused galleries based on communities or topics
- Down the road there will be a token distribution event that will help with bootstrapping the DAO

## Platform Walkthrough

- First public preview!
- Will be able to set up *Personal Profile*
- Through DID — DoinGud doesn't own the profile, the user does
- Can set what social impact causes/organizations you care about
- Can view the impact you're seeing through donations
- Aim to remove a lot of the friction that other platforms have

## Relationship Between Creators and Their Causes

- Relationship between the creator and the cause — Are they separate? Are they collaborations?
- In last few months, the NFTs selling for the most ETH are ones with social causes associated with them
- DoinGud allows for the good and social impact to be *shown* — funds will absolutely go to the social impact organizations selected by the creator — no uncertainty about where the funds end up
- Creators **collaborate** with the social causes
- Creators have a fan base and social impact causes/organizations have a fan base → uniting the fan bases/networks increases reach
- Healthier community being created
- Enabling collaboration between different social causes
- Most creators want to give back — DoinGud is a platform that facilitates this
- Helps activist to make a living without much of the questions or potential conflicts from getting paid as an activist
- Tools to empower creators and tools for society by creating net positive gains

## Manu's Story

- Was an activitist in Venezuela and has always been an activist and wanted to create tools that elevate activists so that activists are able to make a living without friction and conflicts of interest
- Through working for an oil company in early 20s, saw how humans value natural resources but exploit the Earth for profit
- After a career change and move to Europe, saw that "the new type of oil is data"
- Life experiences have led to where Manu is now — has been in the DAO space for a few years (MetaCartel was Manu's first DAO)
- Realized that we can create tools that can empower creators and also those doing good for society
- Before DoinGud, was working on a mutual aid platform called [Fight Pandemics](https://fightpandemics.com/) — created by 1800 worldwide contributors
- Idea was to create a social DAO — most folks involved were not from the blockchain space
- Were tracking contributions made on GitHub, Notion →
- Capital would be the human capital that folks are contributing, but quickly realized that most folks didn't understand human or social capital and only understood financial capital
- Eventually saw a way to create impact through NFTs

## DoinGud Impact Goals

- Picking out the points to create monetary benefit that aren't focused on quick cash grabs or gains — there is focus on duplicate benefit on both sides of the market
- Curators will also be impacted
- Not strictly thinking only about our generation — thinking about the younger generation who are often more conscious
- From the activist perspective:
- In the NGO sector:
- Donation money coming into NGOs often go into high salaries for folks managing the philanthropic money, but are delivering very little impact
- "Rent seeking middle man problem"
- DoinGud will have succeeded when there are no more non-profits or charities since these organizations are often not transparent
- 501c3s in the US at least need to make their spending public, but the goal is to make all of the information public and available on chain
- Working toward goal where the creator would be the benefitted organization
- Moving toward a future web3 creators economy where creators are not a single individual
- Shifting away from the notion that a creator is one individual toward collective success — we need a name such as Banksy
- Current society not used to the idea of collectives, so we tend to focus and identify a single hero as the face and name
- What will be done with the wealth, success, and value generated by collective creation?
- NFTs are a "super powered way to deal with this perfect storm"
- Intention to create a social platform and marketplace managed by creators who are doing good things for humanity
- DoinGud want to create community and organization profiles (not just individuals)
- How could DoinGud integrate [DAOhaus](https://daohaus.club/) into their ecosystem?
- Integrating [Gnosis Safes](https://gnosis-safe.io/) for folks to collectively buy NFTs
- How could DAOhaus integrate?
- Co-creation is the magic sauce
- We like to go in rabbit holes and deep dive, but co-creation is very rewarding
- Having a creator DAO that can interact with DoinGud would enable co-creation and would also provide transparency
- Social impact organization being a DAO or having a profile on DoinGud increases transparency about where social impact funds go
- Be "active resistance"
- "Unholy triangle of incentives" — BS of art and BS of third sector
- How can web3 be the healing component?
- We should *collectively decide* what this could look like
- Curation is key to this as well → picking communities that we *know* will drive value and ones that have driven value in the past
- There are more problems we need to solve beyond climate change, we need to come together to solve these as well
- Sadly we're not coordinating or coming together to solve these problems — DoinGud working on incentivizing solutions
