# DAO Survey Process
Documentation for the survey > governance pipeline for internal DAO operations.
Feedback from 'burn rate' survey:
Here's some retrospective notes on the last survey:
- Many hands make light work, but only if we split into smaller groups for more focused surveys. I think we can all agree that wasn't the most efficient use of our time.
- Ideation surveys need to have less questions.
- Groups are better at editing than writing. Most wrote their own summaries. That's a good thing.
- Most importantly, I think when do another 'ideation' survey, we skip the summary altogether. Instead we should just share the results on a figjam. There's a lot of value in just reading what everyone thinks. Not sure if we're really getting the value out of summarizing. Or maybe we only summarize things that were very common/actionable.
- Let's ask respondants for certain formats of answer. We can't really do much with 2,000 word essay responses or a batch of links to other websites. My thinking is that if someone does have 10 paragraph idea, and it just can't be condensed, it should probably be posted to Discourse.
- The last survey probably did have opportunities for more focused answers. Let's aim for that whenever possible.
- Every time we do one of these we should be thinking about how to make the process more light-weight without reducing quality. In this case we reduced quality and increased process. Not blaming us for this. It was probably had a lot more to do with the format of what we're asking and the time constraints we were under. But still, worth thinking on.
