--- ###### tags: `UX Research` --- # [DAOhaus Explore](https://app.daohaus.club/explore) It is the year of the DAO. DAOs are a hot topic on Twitter and it seems all a startup has to do to raise a round right now is mention DAO tooling. The space is getting busier by the day and seemingly harder to navigate. - How do potential DAO members identify DAOs they are interested in contributing to? - How do DAOs identify other oganizations they could form relationships with? We are current building version three (v3) of the DAOhaus platform. The theme of this version is composability. We are actively breaking up the platform into mutliple apps and microservices. The thinking is to provide organizations the building blocks they can use to craft their own DAO experience. We intend for one of the apps to be what is currently know as the Explore feature in v2. ![v2-explore-daos](https://i.imgur.com/jcdvKln.png) Right now we only display DAOs summoned using the Moloch contract. Ideally Explore may feature multiple flavors of DAO. - How do we categorize these different flavors? - What are the attributes of a DAO? ## Idea The Explore feature is not an immediate development priority. Although it may be soon. Design research is extremely valuable to help us know where to focus. And this provides time to look at Explore holistically as a stand alone product. As a product we need to answer some big questions: - Who is the target segment? - What problems are we trying to solve? - What value can we add for users? - What type of content is useful? Understanding more about similar ways users are currently solving these problems helps us better understand the questions above. Let us research this opportunity to fill in some of those blanks. We can begin with a competitive analysis of the space. - Who has big dreams and who has functional software? - What is working well and what can be improved? This research can guide our product development roadmap. It may help us prioritize what we could build or who we might partner with. If someone else is doing this well how might we support them? ## Getting Started ### Competitive Analysis Create Airtable of DAO aggregators and DAO tooling companies and organizations. Write a report and create a slide presentation citing evidence that would be useful in helping guide product development for the Explore app. - **Diverge**: What are the possibilities? - **Converge**: Where are the opportunities? ### Questions - Does @Annn3's existing research fulfill the requirement for DAO tooling? - Who do we consider competitors? - What startups and organizations are doing similar work? - What methodology do we want to use? ## Potential Future Research - Complete case studies on 3 interesting projects in the space - Provide a hueristic analasis of DAOhaus Explore v2
