Product name or working title 2. Logline (one sentence description) 3. A link to rough product doc that describes more about the product, - who uses it - why its useful - what problem its solving - how can it be built with our tooling - why the timing is good (now) - how it might generate revenue ### RFP for usability - resources for users - bringing in the DAO-curious ### Go to market??? ## [August 29, 2022](https://hackmd.io/bltJLvslQ9Wu710TEdST8A) ### Mike Anderson from Prota Labs & BanyanDAO - Spencer has been working with Mike and Will at Prota - Prota is a venture studio - BanyonDAO is the DAO version of Prota - Will incubated Figmant - will and Mike built Banyon DAO to learn DAOs - want an incubator where they can share things like building a busisness and market and money stuff - Spencer came to them about DAOhaus's future - don't need to own peces of all the companies - want to host apps like Yeeter at their incubator - working with other capital funds for the incubator graduates Some of are current projects are about battle testing v3 what about workshops about getting our sales pitch perfected? we could probably use the incubator DAOhaus has lots of tallent and founder drive how to foster the founder drive in the community brainstorming ideas focused on building tools, timing is right for the perfect storm and compete with the super DAOs with vc funding we see DAOhaus as a common good we want it free for people to build off our flower is blooming and were ready to send our seeds out into the ecosystem Banyon wants to build an ecosystem and uses tree lifecycle for imagery Banyon/Prota vs DAOhaus labs/Prota - its hard to raise funds as a common good - help with being successful, like slide deck and networking - equity part of this - Warcampers can help with the incubator Decentralization and open source is important but still need a sustainable business partner bus and tech smarts in one incubator Are there 2-3 ideas that will be the best proof of concept to rally behind? Who wants to be the founders? Incubator - 8 weeks, with 2 week focused sprints Mike is excited about the open core What about an event to get more people ### MCON 100 shrits, new design ~30 HausParty from last year syncing on wednesday for workshops [Community Workshop Slides](https://hackmd.io/mmebX7OMRhCaumn-Cym8MQ) ### Magesmith grind - not sustainable - loosing poeple - churn is expensive, slows production and is hard on community - current rfp is too much overhead - sept budget request is 30% more xdai and 60% less HAUS - propose the entire DAO increase - runway would be 4 months not 5 - situation hasn't changed - until we have more funds should we increase - 4 months with more comfort - 5 months more uncomfortable - after beta do we need full force development - gonna havta switch to go to market - still need decreasing - equity deals for funding, like DAOhaus labs - need to get down to 1/2 burn if stay public good - there's no point at which softwhere is done - more users means more suport - lets consider people building with people building on top of the protocol - prioritize a transition - the only way we can transition is with labs and keep the talent - q4 can be organized differnetly - the sept budget proposal is for tightening bolts - priorize having ideas ready, like pitchdeck - can't just ship - resources need to go to shill - long conversation is more costly than $20,000 - Please can we get to that place where we transition - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_models_for_open-source_software - bright ideas work session - deadline for submission of ideas - discuss - vote - workshops - figuring out of sept compensation logistics... ## [August 22, 2022](https://hackmd.io/b0FWiKJMSiqBrPGrg5nSMg) ### MCON2 - Wednesday, Sept 7 - classroom with windows - 10am-12p community workshop - 12:30pm-2:30pm tech workshop - 3pm HausParty Live from MCON - DAOhaus swag coordinated by Ven - Raid Brood beer at MCON Wednesday Aug 24 and noon mountain - meeting about tech workshop ### September Project Allocation and Bidding - [Proposed process](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UIBzPAoOi5LL3iQH0QcGoeYIu5HoVXV8QAXv0FDTW2c/edit#) - [Spreadsheet for allocation](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IoTrhFpJRbwPwWBaw-ZF-qLxSahuEnNqAbHvlRtqKBU/edit#gid=17821322120) - open from Aug 22-31, 2022 - using github issues ### DAOhaus labs or Haus Labs - revenue with products - kickbacks to protocol - VC friendly - DAOhaus the protocol is not DAOhaus Labs - DAOhaus the protocol is a public good - What exactly is the Haus token? - selling it for the protocol - SEC? - selling equity in labs - give equity out to a board of directors - priority is part of the DAOhuas ecosystem - core is public infrustructure that labs needs - labs is the private industry trying to make money - labs needs core so needs to pay taxes - model can work for DAOstillery - DAO MNA for DAOhaus? - what would be aquarired? ## [August 15, 2022](https://hackmd.io/1bH3r69KRhqn4bBVKDzI_g) treehouse - are they value aligned? do they want to facilitate communities becoming DAOs? - is it a way for share holders to exit and leave DAOhaus as collatoral damage? - we can't descriminate between who uses our tools - clarify partnership or them just using our tools ## [August 8, 2022](https://hackmd.io/rtzC7PSGS1e78kdYuiqN0g) ### MCON - Thursday, Sept 8 - classroom with windows - 11am-1p community workshop - 1pm-3pm tech workshop - 3pm HausParty Live from MCON - DAOhaus swag coordinated by Ven - Raid Brood beer at MCON - DAOgroni game - MCON3 presale ### Verifiable Credentials - Collaborate with Orange, Sobol, Hats and CollabLand - White list a shaman - open standard between protocols - jam at MCON ## [August 1, 2022](https://hackmd.io/pEx8qoIIR3qjsypbynsRew) RFP updates took up the whole hour ## [July 25, 2022](https://hackmd.io/6nbpDhqrTrq5Dr2LrNou-A?both) [DAOhaus Warcamp Work Selection](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UIBzPAoOi5LL3iQH0QcGoeYIu5HoVXV8QAXv0FDTW2c/edit#) by Spencer RFP process was for July, throwing shit on the wall and see what would stick - did an okay job Take a step back - look at challenges - what did we learn - how to imporve the process - not the final version - expect revisions as we learn Smashing together the projection concept and the RFP process - projection - medium term goals - RFPs - converted projection goals - designed for someone to create an excuse for someone to create a proposal replace RFP with a new version of the projection 1. medium run objectives 2. work chuck importance signaling 3. reflection bids are made to do work bids are selected selected bids fit into a budget budget is set at the beginning of the month - $70K/mo + HAUS What's the difference between an RFP and a work chunk? - RFP's had lots of extra info - work chunks just focus on ROI and deliverables Isn't a work chunk just a project? - chunk allows varied scope how is strength of signal gathered? everyone's importance points are associated with how much shares they have in the DAO allocating signal is always open goal: real time and high quality signal proposed buget as part of bid is useful for perspective goal is to remove more overhead - adding more process, adds more overhead tieing cost with bids clouds judgement All bids have this negotiation about cost More discussion on work chunk bids: - include price? - less overhead? - bids about things we want someone else to do? expected time on this is 30min per person what about cat herding? ### Next steps: - start this process - templates are available - do allocations, July 26, on highter level stuff - make tweeks as we go How do we remove a process? - no answer - tell Dekan or Spencer so they can revist - proces isn't ratified; it's tried with consent Decisions seem like they're being made in Discord calls - ratifying something feels more decentralized - is there no voting cuz time crunch? - who has authority to aprove processes? - deligated team - DAO vote ## [July 18, 2022](https://hackmd.io/MBCMq4i6Tfq74J22mcGA5A) RFP shares took up the whole hour. ## [July 11, 2022](https://hackmd.io/bRxhTMysSwWht833ipwJpQ) ### [Yeeter](https://hackmd.io/sn_RkkiPRFe0-oHKtF1mNw?view) - get a DAOhaus fundraise on more chains - shill at EthCC - no devs available to get it set up - needs more fleshing out - Yeeter can be a flagship product - is this worthy? - not really a great time for fundraising - use Giveth and Gitcoin as examples - focus on public goods raise? - how much work is needed? - specifics - why not just ask for DAI - Yeeter is for giving something back - Gitcoin grant might be better - explore all avenues for funding - get very clear on what exactly is needed - get very clear on reletive benefits for using the Yeeter, instead of anything else - this gives more exposure to Yeeter - gives us control over the narrative - is Yeeter ready for being out in the world even more? - Yeeter vs Juicebox conversation at Metahub - Is Yeeter a Juicebox competitor? - Productize Yeeter - lacking resources and time - look at different approaches - how might DAOhaus infrastructure integrate into other - general and specific about the idea ## [July 4, 2020](https://hackmd.io/E3VJdSKXQameLEV7GYVNSQ) ### RFPs - [RFP Process and Rounds](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/rfp-process-and-rounds/11198) - [Product Epoch Request For Proposal 001](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/product-epoch-request-for-proposal-001/11181) - [Core Strategy Request for Proposal 002](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/core-strategy-request-for-proposal-002/11189) - [Core Knowledge Base Request For Proposal 003](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/core-knowledge-base-request-for-proposal-003/11190) - [Grant Seekers Request for Proposal 004](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/grant-seekers-request-for-proposal-004/11191) - [DH RFP 005: DAO Communications and a proposal for AI-Augmented Content Production](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/dh-rfp-005-dao-communications-and-a-proposal-for-ai-augmented-content-production/11204) - [DH RFP006 - Developer Relations](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/dh-rfp006-developer-relations/11210) - [DH RFP 007 - Home Page Revamp](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/dh-rfp-007-home-page-revamp/11212) - [DH RFP 008 - DAO Content Market Strategy](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/dh-rfp-008-dao-content-market-strategy/11213) - [DH RFP 009 - Brand & Awareness](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/dh-rfp-009-brand-awareness/11216) - [DH RFP010 - The Paladin Valet](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/dh-rfp010-the-paladin-valet/11218) ### Forward Plan Target is for next month and July. Today was the last day to get in an RFP - request for a proposal from the DAO - respond with a proposal to the DAO Process starts with an open submission round - next time add a step - reflection (reflect on approved proposal - did they meet their success criteria?) Collate proposals - put up on Github Selection round - token weighted voting - don't want a tie Budget - $70k xdai - $50k HAUS Prioritize proposals - rate order - designate priority Budget can't go up. Negotiate Get on Chain - vote - ratify Token Log - offchain conviction voting Subtracting expenses from budget for proposals. - rounding up to $1k/mo in expectation for gas fees in Aug - for 6 months out - revisit in 2 months What next? - have until the end of today to submit an RFP or proposal - collate data in Github tonight - Thursday - voting offchain - Friday - negotiations - meet to workshop - Friday Afternoon - proposals on chain - Omnibus proposal, unless shit hits the fan, then individual proposals. **Proposals must be on the forum today, Wednesday July 6, at 4:00 pm pacific.** ## [June 27, 2022](https://hackmd.io/PqvdXRMkTLGmD02TAKrh-A) ### How to reduce our burn... [DAOhaus Collective Projection of Relative Importance of Objectives (v0.2) (Responses)](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i6xLojEIv86GpALSzsPGtTyWUL_gU9Nq0OkM6K-NNVE/edit#gid=2146629253) We did a raise of 750 eth - plan to sell in three bunches Dekan says we're doing a great job, but because of the situation with our decreased runway we need to get more lean, focus and prioritize for the following months. We're getting weary with all the meetings and surveys and can now make decisions so we can get effective. Shipping v3 is the most priority, based on surveys. It's nice to do lots in parallel, but when we're running lean lets focus. #### There were 4 proposals - Global Slash - cut everyone's stable pay 50-60% and supplement with HAUS - Surgical cuts - prioritize shipping the v3 product and funding the builders who do that - what are builders willing to lower compenation so they are still focused builders - Dekan prefers this one - DAO RFP process - quarterly review - requires more overhead and changes - Do nothing - burn runway in >2 months If you want to get your own funding and focus on an initiative, go for it. This is a short term fix. This is a time for focus and simplicity. Above all we have relationships. - process is not as valuable as our connections We're building amazing technology. Let's take everything we learn and start from scratch. Allow buiders to build for communities. We are our first customer. We have assembled the most talented team. - who are getting paid below market ***E2T then spoke inspirational poetry, straight from the heart*** Warcamp does v3 and UberHaus can give grants to spin off initiatives Escape velocity - before the suits come in Goal setting and fidelity conversation - need realistic expectations Focus funding on a build team Why didn't we go the way of stables? What is realistic for building? What is the realistic building based off of? MCON is arbitrary, but it's a useful deadline We can change the scope Can we deliver well functioning libraries instead of a beta Can be more effective to think of something that's achievable in 2 months, cuz thinking in 3-6 months gets fuzzy. What if those looking for funding get paid in commision instead of hourly or salary? [Comprehensive Compensation Analysis](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n0jl5jW84xlaLImgmiU3sB1dTzJLbnvBQ4sQr5Dr4Uw/edit#gid=220737546) ## [June 20, 2022](https://hackmd.io/7HEW4v7RT2ielQkN5L3POw) 360 eth moved from cco dao and replaced with 50k haus (check) - twice the amount of the last one, based on passed proposal to double transmutation ratio given current conditions - motion done to insure lessened incentives to core contributors / loot holders to rage quit and market buy, keeping more eth 276 eth than immediately turned to 295 (check) wXDAI in the compensation dao (assuming this is thousands) - generating a 3 month runway with a 90k spend goal/limit Final short term decisions to be made at alchemist meet tomorrow - So what to do with the remaining Eth (253 ETH) - about 280k DAI. We could swap it into another 3 months or let it ride on the chance of a upcoming rally - decision to be made at the alchemist meeting tomorrow. This is unf. half as much we were hoping, but we still 10x above the first ... (erh dekan fumbles) 3k - but still... Rangers Update: Website copy and design update incoming. HausParty won't be able to make it this thursday - Binary and UI will support, Felipe is on it too. Christina is owning DAO of the week (and owning it good - says UI) and tweets are getting some nice traction Articles backlog - wallet connect boost in the pipeline, and a similar one on "DAOHaus Connect" kagami to give some attention over the next week - we'd like to do that about every week or two budget permiting. Documentation changes - Amos and UI doing dev rel overhaul on the docs based on feedback from active devs (Hedgey, Nestor and others) "Mint a Million" tutorial turned into tech docs based on video tutorial Yap DAO - Not a ton coming from that due to obvious meltdown, Yap keeps pitching, trying with "Chain debrief" a new publication, and pitching an OpEd idea to Defiant and others around "5 things to know if your startup should be a DAO" and suggest DAOhaus DAOs in that regard. Notified Yap about our budget situation - and that we might need to prioritise our contributors over paying them. They were understanding and hopefuly we won't get there. Mage-Smiths 1 new issue, 14 closed. Chris G fixed a bug (yay community contribution), 3 milestones of project (didnt here) - gnosis safe upgrade fully deployed, some mention to an integration, plor speak fast. Switching out of the graph hosting service. 128 issues done on the V2 front - some blockers with nx, an open pr that might fix some atmospheric issues, Summoner, we have an alpha issue - celebrate the first clickable buttons on v3! Theres a walk through in the tavern channel. Designers working on global navigation, dark and light modes and discussing the meaning of "done". Moving to final details and documentation around all these tools. End of the month coming and milestones are looking good on everything, UI still to be. Quantstamps quotes are in - 90k cash or 60k Haus to look at the contracts. Tension: Seems we can't pay an audit with what we have, but seems we can't put these contracts unaudited out there. Could be something for us to add into something like a Gnosis grant. GO team should be a good team to audit this given that they know ins and outs of DAO things. Moloch Mystics (represented by Spencer) offers up 20k from GR previous rounds to go towards audit. (donate here: https://gitcoin.co/grants/2918/molochv3-codename-baal) Discussion follows on the weighted relevance of DAO goals and the spreadsheet - Spencer asks team to reflect how those weights will touch on your activities within the DAO. They are working on a finished version of the spreadsheet allowing warcampers to allocate their attention across the objective set Questions about fulltime equivalent weightings. Previous fulltime commitment was about 15 people. E2T asks "What if we v3 developers just leave and work on our own?" Dekan says "We need to align behind some objectives by the end of the week" Spencer says "Doing the commitment allocations will help us make more intelligent decisions when determining which workstreams might be dropped" ## [June 13, 2022](https://hackmd.io/m52gdPuERNajQEakgbb_cQ) ### [HAUS Proposal: Burn Reduction & Focus](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/haus-proposal-burn-reduction-focus/11153) Flagging - optimistic process - allows self-selection - if enough people flag a contributor then feedback is not optional Keep everything that isn't mentioned as it is, cuz we have limited time Runway - breakdown in the survey - our data isn't that great - numbers help us see the situation Minimalist and most impactful for Cycle 5 507 Eth in CCO treasury - $600,000 in the treasury - $100k/month burning - 4-6 months runnway Focus so we're set up Lean back into passions and ideology Keep options on the table for people are willing Perspectives change as the market changes, which is very fast ### [Discussion: Potential Changes to Compensation Program for Cycle 5](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/discussion-potential-changes-to-compensation-program-for-cycle-5/11151) Need for more focus on workstreams than circles Circles - more like domains of knowledge - what's the deliverables - using for ease of understanding Market Value Level Metric - what's the reference? - how is the metric defined? - based on the open employment market - another proposal would be needed to get the dollar number - don't know yet how this metric would be decided Allocating value - feedback to where we're putting our focus How to optimize and get running quickly? test before implimentation First part is projection - pulls the DAO in a direction Circles can be containers of workstreams With the dragon, we could see all the workstreams - what's the optimal level of fidelity Is there a path where a Warcamp contributor could forgo payment altogether in the short-term to trustlessly receive that comp at a later date when it's less of a burden on the DAO? Or receive some symbolic payment that could be redeemed later? - This is, functionally, the same as taking HAUS - Except HAUS doesn't have a clear off-ramping strategy that avoids pains to the DAO... maybe that's my own density. Nor do we currently have the option to be paid in 100% HAUS. What if what is decided is valuable is not what a contributor thinks is valuable? What if they then decide to work on what they think is valuable, but are downgraded in value, even though they feel that the work was most valuable. It might be hard to keep contributors who are doing excellent work that is decided as a lower value. Should we be spending our potentially last days on reorganization? 1. collect the workstreams 2. put them in most valuable order Collective agreement on where our destination is over the next few months *How we might clarify our individual agency/options to sacrifice for the greater good to alleviate the pressure during these challenging times.* Were not doing enough to reign in to a single destination We're in a better position, than we've ever been, to ship a finished product in 3 months. Lets focus on building a launchpad Sustainability has less time - move resources there - prioritize - align everyone Slim down other efforts Experimentaion helps understanding ### [Dekan's Vision and Strategy](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CQmRAnQFtPjuYDzObp8IaSgcwPXwcnxaJK2MY389jps/edit#heading=h.yvfhaury7a7s) ## [June 6, 2022](https://hackmd.io/eeyeEZeJTYu5ee61QiCY0A) ### Verifiable Credentials James Young came by with Agnes Guest Pass Orange Protocol and DAOhaus use Reputation - soulable interface - verifiable credentials Kinds of credentials - discord - orange protocol Bau is coordinating We are working with Soulble, Nester and Orange and Karma ### Agreements: What types of agreements should be explicit vs. implicit? Implicit - between individuals (personal) Explicit - a decision for the DAO Based off of what entity is effected. - is it effecting one person or a larger group? What is the scope of the agreement and who does it impact? What about when a group is delegated? Second order effects??? Magesmiths make software decisions, even though it effects the whole DAO. Delegation of authority Process should be explicit - circles vs all warcamp At the DAO level, do want to keep as much of the noise away. - process and policy can go into delegated modules It's easier to get everyone to agree on the process of approving changes, then agreeing on the all the details of the changes themselves. Examples of big and small things, when we can be explicit or implicit. Manifesto is our voice vs colors of buttons If all of the actions of all of the circles have DAO wide implications, what could possibly be implicit? Whether something is contenteous or not Not implicit or explicit / instead what is worthy of DAO wide attention Weight on things that have implications over time It could be harder to work if there are too many ratified processes Instead discern on a case by case Don't wanna loose flexibility Everything being explicit is too much noise Structure for delegating? - explicit: DAO votes on who has the power When ratifying process, there's something to reference - can add beuracracy and take up more time - can save time cuz we don't havta think about it How about a process to object the process? - keep away from distracting greater DAO Disagreeing and raising disputes should be no problem Laws vs Legislation Scope and who it impacts Process should be easy for us to remember, not 1000 pages ## [May 30, 2022](https://hackmd.io/WyrdFcbqRY24FdHjs4SlzA) ### Individual Ratification Proposals for Cycle 4 Commitments Cycle 4 technically started a month ago For the first time there were dissagreements on contributor value levels Market constraints and concerns about getting leaner probably affect dissagreements about contributor value levels Need to get a move on ratifying Cycle 4 commitments to pay people. - gonna be late anyway Propose: - one time basis: ratify each contributor individually - helps identify where disputes are - set a process for resolution People requesting to move up a level because they need more pay or cuz they want a different category? - Bau: 60-70% classification; 20-30% value; wants to build a savings but recognizes the bear market Lets practice talking about money. Do people want a raise, a promotion or both? **We don't want to take too much from the pot and end it all early.** **We also don't want to undervalue people so they end up looking elsewhere.** Let's try to focus on this particular thing right now and save cycle 5 for after cycle 4 is resolved. If there are individual ratifications, then disputes can be dealt with individually. Escalation system - if someone is asking to go up a level - check with the buddies - helps keep people from leaving - check with the primary circle first - then move on to the greater DAO Easier to manage at a smaller scale it signals value which feels existential Appreciate Paladins Level 1-5 feels arbitrary - freedom of subjective interpretations Create a more objective standard **If we can't define an objective evaluation system (and it remains pliable and subjective) then how can we decipher deeply subjective interpretations of our (presently rather arbitrary) system?** ### Survey last week anonymous response to what individual values were requested wasn't clear that there was an opportunity to obstain ### Individual proposals If we vote against anyone will that fuck up the vibe Some people will be brutally honest and vote no, but please provide helpful feedback If you vote no then you're leaning on the previous decision? Is there no decision yet? For June - people who switched their value levels have been working this whole time - shouldn't we have given feedback much sooner? - they didn't have any reason to think that there would be any pushback Is there anyone abusing the system? Can we avoid bringing everyone along for the disputes? Cycle 4 is May and June - try to avoid what happened in May for June Cycle 5 - expect more substantial changes Dispute resolution Reslolution Tree - where concensus isn't reached May - Yeet June - Individual proposals - what happens if a proposal fails - how much time and energy does that take? - DAO proposals take too much time and energy - the signals still need to be separated Save time by meeting with individuals and their primary circle. - circle's approval is a signal to the DAO What about people who are splitting their time between circles? - do we each have a primary 33 core contributors in Warcamp 16 on commitment track ### Cycle 5 - stay leaner - stay more focused - keep each other accountable **Think about time** - are we really saving that much money if we deal with the disputes for time that has already been worked ## [May 23, 2022](https://hackmd.io/KXegSTwaRoqU2ZKEm-uV5Q) ### Accountabilty and Compensation [Buddy System](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/buddy-system-mvp-and-a-travii-use-case/10985) - just one aspect - how to join the Warcamp community - how to self assess, but getting feedback is challenging - "The Culture Code" book on successful teams - best teams - signal to each other that we're a tribe What was the magic sauce at the beginning? - Are we doing the things that need to be done to keep that going? - how did we get this far? - what's working? Who's met in person? Jord hasn't met anyone and Bau wants to meet him. Pre-UberHaus - we started together at hackathons after covid - there's some eth events We don't do video calls. If you're new and you don't know anyone, how do you know if anyone wants to work with you? - coordinape? - messaging during coordinape? - insist to keep it going - gives effective feedback - strongly encourage, not force #### Buddy System Minimally viable structure that we can all align on and iterate on locally. not tools or reputation one on one peer evaluation create a series of regular meetings - hold accountabilty - hold safe space Brings newcommers in most effectively Connect dots accross all the complex issues See [Forum Post](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/buddy-system-mvp-and-a-travii-use-case/10985) DAO-wide adoption - what that woud need to contain to get Warcampers support? How are people matched? - can we pair up organically? - might leave people without a buddy - don't (untintentionally) outcast anyone Who would be open to being a buddy with anyone? - any circle or focus - flexibility is key Everyone is unique and interact unique-ly No regimental style Potentially adding more admin overhead What's a lightweight way to start Slack - coffee time - bot pairs you with someone to have coffee with even 15 min a day 4 times a week is a good min but it's about a relationship over head of meeting daily is very valuable - culture and relationships are most important let the bot do the pairing - save the onboarding and coordinating who is who's buddy No committee or overseeing admin decentralized peer to peer not top down Framework that people could opt in? Ratification? and Systemitized? Do we want to agree to experiment with the buddy sytem? Has anyone taken up the framework? What's the action to adopt or take as suggestion? Don't make it the norm to not have a buddy? The people who need buddies can have a buddy MVP - bottom up Aggregate signaling Open process that anyone can access Some of us already have informal buddies How to help someone out Self selection process Creating a way for people to signal that they want a buddy Have accountability to someone else - not just getting shit done - also in how individuals can best contribute - improves efficiency and impact What specific problems could a buddy address? - all the things an individual learn resolve get better personal development and reciprical etc - connection between individuals and the team - trouble with scale - lots of shared resources that the DAO cares about - what value level should all of us be? What if the buddy system isn't answering all those questions? Bubbling up ideas - survey is useful conversation and raw data when you write down your thoughts, you find them more Gather a poll? For us to succeed, we need to be connected in a diverse way. ### Connect with each other What if we meet with someone for coffee every week, not the same person, so we can meet each other? Let's - more IRL hang outs MCon and a June getaway? original community valued IRL open and agendaless pressence Can more of us make it to eth events? We're global so how do we make what DAOs do better? Can't recreate IRL in digital Can make digital better can't require IRL to make the community work IRL is the booster and power up to an already best digital community Let's signal which eth events we're going to Next one in US is NFT.NYC in June Crypto Conference DAO - sub dao to fund ourselves HausParty S5, 15 episodes, MCon is just past 1/2 way - DAOhaus House at MCon DAOhaus House at MCon - add a few days after 9/9/22 Next Eth events: NYC: Jun 20-24/26 https://www.nft.nyc/ https://www.dao-nyc.xyz/ https://nyc.ethglobal.co/ Germany: Jul 1-15 Handful of DAOhaus/MC people will be at https://www.daopalace.xyz/ Paris: Jul 18-22 https://ethcc.io/ Denver: Sep 6-9 https://www.mcon.fun/ Berlin: Sep 12 -14 time https://www.dappcon.io/ Bogota: Oct 6-22 https://devcon.org/en/#road-to-devcon SF blockchain week 10/31 - 11/6 ETHToronto Aug 8-10 running alongside Blockchain Futurist Conference in Toronto, capped off with Phish playing on Aug 10 🙂 https://devconnect.org/ ## [May 16, 2022](https://hackmd.io/I9Nn3ZVWTmiJ4dbqsljtQA) ### [Discord Access and Permissions](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/discord-access-permissions/10891) Citadel role - not communicated or documented How to communicate what access different roles have and provide access to people who want to get involved but can't see internal discussion. Set up a channel for introductions from new people in the server. Anyone who comes in the discord with 10-20 HAUS gets read only access to all channels except Alchemists. Citadel role - preserve existing structure - have to hold 2k HAUS - intro channel specifically for them - write access to channels? - want them in the conversation? Yay! Open labs and daostillary? labs: - permissions are already set for private conversations about specific things - security - default to black box - respect the preference of the people we're talking to How do we welcome Citadel introductions? is that manual? Channel called Read Access - give instructions Why open - Transparency to HAUS holders Human verification token or emoji access not both What is the difference between transparency and opening to survalience? things might get taken out of context If the benefit is transparency, is that really going to be the benefit that people are going to get? - even warcampers have trouble keeping up with everything Warcampers might feel surveyed Include voice chat channels? Let's record and edit and share instead of openning the channel. Having access warcamp chat is the same as warcamp voice because the content is the same Could be disruptive Please add thoughts to the forum proposal Is there another way to keep integrity and transparency? Distracting like a shadow presence throughout the day Frame as a pathway to get involved - not watch what's happening #### Compromise - Currated handful of channels - look at the purpose and design for that - find specifics The Warcamp DAO is not a liquid token it's permissioned, which includes channels and meetings. Warcamp is not HAUS token holders. The rest of DAOhaus server is inactive. Do we separate the Warcamp and DAOhaus servers. Design challege: the rest of the DAOhaus discord isn't active Specific Warcamp delegate channel for HAUS holders Need to maintain ability to coordinate Camp Fire and Haus Party are already available What about a DAOhaus community call on Twitter Spaces? - invite HAUS holders - make sure they know what to expect - give them what they expect Warcamp and DAOhaus are not the same. Do we keep the meme names, like Magesmiths? DAOhaus - open transparent Warcamp - permissioned focused UberHaus - lots of communities contributing HAUS holders are part of DAOhaus and UberHaus Warcamp is permissioned for Warcampers only How to organize discord so there's clean roles and permissions and still communicating? is DAOhaus and UberHaus the same? Haus and UberHaus Who should be maintaining the DAOhaus discord? - Warcamp? - UberHaus? - DAOhaus? DAOhaus is a suite of products owned by someone in Warcamp. Can the DAO own DAOhaus domain? - can that be done so it's accessable - can only make updates with proposals - DAOhaus.eth DAOhaus governance (UberHaus) owns DAOhaus, including token platform and structure. Warcamp is the steward of that, delegated by UberHaus. What's actually happening - Warcamp is doing all of it Let's keep telling the aspiration so we can plan and impliment How to transfer ownership to UberHaus? - fork Warcamp? How to engage UberHaus? How funding is structured might be part of the issue Incentive mechanism for UberHaus and a high barrier for delegates Role clarity - UberHaus and Warcamp are manned by the same people To anyone on the outside, it's all just DAOhaus. Would getting rid of the meme names help all this? it's too complext to bring down to one word Who is the commmuinty and what is our responsibility to them and each other could be a series of forum posts with some breaking down of the complexities how to include all voices We don't all have to agree, but include the diversity of perspectives in warcamp If there was just one DAO, and that DAO was the DAOhaus DAO and everything went to the main DAO and squads and workstreams can get funded by the DAO. example: MakerDAO Understanding the complexity and getting an organic flow is a good place to start. Why is it hard to organize the Discord? Cuz we're still understanding what Warcamp, DAOhaus and UberHaus is. Fucking complex shit ## [May 9, 2022](https://hackmd.io/b2s9Ai_eSUqgcIS7kQIWig) ### vBal and Compensation **Is there a reasonable way to make an adjustement to unlock HAUS to stake in a liquidity pool?** Is it too much if what's locked in the NFTs are LP tokens? Logistics might not work. How to claim the LP? Locking mechanism - contract to hold HAUS - Warcamp-ers don't tend to sell HAUS Give people the multiplier Yes, let's explore the conversation. Can we have more documentation? Doubling our HAUS by staking for a year is pretty great. Do we want to bring in outside liquidity? Goblin is gonna move this conversation into Alchemists. #### Bear market - not the first - space changes quickly - don't let Twitter discourage - good for builders to shine - not speculators - keep building and keep the vibes up - appreciate each other, here for each other ### [UberHaus](https://uberhaus.club/) reboot Context: - over a year ago was the first token launch - incorporate lots of DAOs - 200 DAOs and most were on DAOhaus - that CCO sold out in 30 seconds - marketing - air drop to all DAOs on the platform with 2 members - brought the DAOs into the network - hoped they'd participate and make a bus network Current: - some active people with great discussions - 70 other DAOs that didn't participate - 10-15 active DAOs Issues: - DAOs wanted to join but the process was too long and hard - individuals want to get involved - things got done slow - closed to only DAOhaus DAOs Changes: - anyone that has HAUS can join - loot or LP - faster execution for new members (quorum vote) - open to DAOs on chain - two body system - DAOs: executing team - scalable - distributed and decentralized - bunish hause - federal - LPs, loot and share holders: proposers and voters - rat house - town hall Proposal flow - forum post - four categories - member, funding, policy and guildkick Gasless voting - only proposals that pass go on to get ratified Operator role - 1 share - manage boosts - auditing team - oracle Completed Steps - transferrd funds from v1 to v1.5 - 40% funds transfered to non transfurable vault - 11 DAOs left - took out unresponsive DAOs - can reaply in a time window - put on hold, some of the initiatives - blank slate Why - If we held all the uncirculated supply of HAUS there could be some propblem withs that - want some checks and balances - onboarding tool - better relationships and calculate value between DAOs - no one else doing DAO to DAO relationships on chain - experiment with more complex organizations Next Steps - get Warcamp-ers involoved - onboarding app - docs - mechanics around loot and stake - game - engage - what is the marketing? Individual HAUS holders can join, two body format - rat haus - any haus holder - the other - permissioned - same economic stake Who can get in? Open with discernment Everyone has exit rights. James Young was here and contributed interesting information for DAOhaus Issac had V3 information DAOPalace sponsorship can contribute to the DAOhaus community - might be better for UberHaus but easier to communicate with Warcamp - also easier to discuss funding Circles jam through quickly - let's allow space for guests and Deep Dives What is the parameters for deciding when a guest is a good use of Warcamp time? Guests can also learn from Warcamp Are there opportunities for Warcamp to be more open to the public? Campfire is how Warcamp communicates and shares with the greater community. What if we bring in other DAOs or communities to present? (keep it DAOhaus related) Lightening talks - anyone can teach in 5 min and then a little Q&A - is it best to limit the guests' time presenting? - can then decide if the topic needs more discussion Should start with shareing with each other and then move onto discussions. We need more time to discuss amongst each other. Lets not accomidate the guests time and instead accomidate Warcamp members' time. The reason to have guests start the meeting is so guests aren't in a private meeting and so they're not waiting around. How much privacy do we want? - Warcamp should be open and transparent Should we record Warcamp meetings and where would that be shared? Check out the forum post: https://forum.daohaus.club/t/discord-access-permissions/10891 Long form writing is encouraged for discussion topics - forum is a good place for that. Let's agree on a time box for guests. Would it be helpful to invite guests to Warcamp meetings after the halfway mark or closer to the end? Put together a form for partners - add warcamp meeting guidance Is there any reason to keep Warcamp private? - alchemists Can we have a Warcamp public voice channel? - as long as we don't let everyone talk - inhibits sharing with some people - how would listeners impact the feel of Warcamp meeting? - gives visibility for greater community - Campfire's purpose Record and then edit out alchemist stuff Rename Campfire so community knows what's happening there? Yeet: raise funds for veBAL + being one of the first for veBAL = better voting power for BAL emissions Main risk is in BAL token. - Curve token has held up while market cap has grown - BAL token is not expected to go down Yeet is targeted to LPDAO participants and possibly broader HAUS ecosystem. - incentive is veBAL system yield - messaging can include voting power as incentive ## [April 18, 2022](https://hackmd.io/3elzyCZuTtuun2PJ_R9lhg) **Recruiting, Onboarding, and Diversity** Are we concerned about the general community or are we more specifically concerned with core contributors? The broader community leads to core contributors Intentional: - welcoming - not just a certain type of person - anyone is welcome to contribute Today, lets focus on Warcamp. What is the cap on Warcamp burn? - we want to onboard more - we want a more diverse ranks of DAO members - can we afford to scale triple what we're doing now? How do we design a system that makes people feel welcome within a finite space? Are we taking it for granted that we are onboarding? Is that onboarding a general want for more or is there specifics that we need? Camp Fire presentation shares the needs of circles. Are there internal people that can take care of some of the needs before onboarding? What are the priorities and needs that take precident? - what is enough? - what are we hiring for? - what can we afford? Are the people already in Warcamp fully engaged as much as they want? With the amount of eth that we are expecting to have, we can roughly double our burn rate and have about 1.5 years. CCO was designed with this in mind. Prefer to prepare for uncertainty and onboard lightly and stay a little bit lean. As a DAO we want to help other projects use our tools, like libraries. - emergent - inclusive - encourage other teams to work along side us Potentially, funds can be used for bounties so people who aren't on the core team can contribute and help us out. Figuring out where were going and where we need help There's a certain amount of vetting to get into Warcamp We're not actively hunting. Who can actually do the job? This industry - diversity is hard - most people are very busy Do we just accept the limitations or do we try to find ways for more diversity? Leaders in building - what perspectives and backgrounds are we representing - how do we build to include the most people? As we build tools - intentional for the most amount of perspectives Widening our diversity of perspective broadens who we build for Our openness can attract diverse people Diversity will often mean that poeple will come in with blind spots so if we have better onboarding that supports people who have some lack of knowledge in certain areas because they don't have experience in some aspects. Can we hang out and answer questions? The set of approaches that we take need to reflect our issues and problems. - are we accidently filtering out anyone? Warcamp contributors are already welcoming and answering questions, maybe there is a way to communicate this with the broader community. Sometimes it feels awkward to reach out to ask questions? Policy: ping to ask questions, it's not disturbing, it's welcomed Fostering confidence and open dialog Camp fire and Friday hang outs - just hanging out as people with people - getting to know each other as individuals **Buddy System** - someone to talk to - thank you E2T, TW and JP - how do we proceed with this? Culture building - emergent - messy - dynamic ## [April 11, 2022](https://hackmd.io/QKGKaVxLTfqsfSPemZkRqg) [vBal](https://hackmd.io/_uBNH34_TGGVjvWKpNc5Vg) - Snapshot approved - encourage people to join Yeeter Deploying for other communities - can they contribute with a Yeeter? - min soft cap - they get governance with the DAO - Optimism was completed by someone from the community #### Role Discovery and Design - Thank you UI369 [Role Illumination Project](https://app.nestr.io/w/fdS4nRRmCBkvHJTqw/join?u=N5Z7tnAZPNofpJXWL) Unit of distiction is the role, with purpose and accountabilities. Role Constilation - person's roles Purpose - clarity with a birds eye view - concerns - accountability and structure - role hand off to focus attention elsewhere - track metrics - metric responsibility goes to a role, not a person Request - please fill out the form or talk to UI369, if you haven't already Use cases: - Workstream staking - Meeting structure Anyone can edit roles in Nestr Roles - person assigned to role - who to talk to R&D - lots of cool oportunities now If we could see this map for other DAOs, we could find people who'd have the perfect combination of skills. Graph with assignments can include things that aren't covered, like a bounty board. Accountability - encouraging each other to do the work that we've committed to doing. It's easy to get pulled in 10,000 directions, instead of being in a role. Helps to see where we need help and what we're missing. How do we work it into our culture? Concern - how does this become actionable and used like a habit and what are the criteria for the role? How are actionable goals decided or described? Holocracy is a playbook for questions and concerns. It's an option for DAOhaus to use. In the begining, there's merit in just visualizing it. Illumination phase: What is on the chart is already happening. Could add projects, policies and deliverables. Can take a look to get a quick update. There's a lot of information that exists in different places. From illumintaion to creation, can add new roles. Where is the data getting stored and how can it be surfaced elsewhere, and how interoperable can it be. Is there a central place with links. This role graph can serve as a central dashboard. Can handing off a role or changing a role improve tension? Organizations can adapt by adding a role to handle a tension. Organizational memory layer and getting it out of our heads and into a system, which can free up bandwidth. Novel tasks - should they be updated into the role graph? Creation of Roles - about accountability only or capturing what is happening **What is the organization's relationship to the Role Illumination?** Will organic useful behavior arrive around these concepts? Roles with clear responsibilities that people are relying on, vs roles that no one is waiting on and is more unexpected How do we represent what we do? Is this question going to perpetuate? Is there a busy work or bureaucracy cost? - Governance meetings, in each circle, can take care of this. - evolves to more represent Prescription for details can be left to the person who describes their own role. Do standards in creating the data, effect the quality of the data? - what if updating is necessary for new uses for the data? Accountability - creating a reason for us to keep this updated - hold each other accountable (socially and Coordinape) - incentivized to keep it updated Advocate for getting the roles down that have clear deliverables, so it's not clouded with softer things that don't have clear deliverables. We're not just optimizing for more DAOs created. When you create a role, it must have an accountability. - not necessary cuz we want to see what people are doing Accountability - is it project specific? - if it's generalized it's hard to see what to be accountable for Evolutional Algorithm for role structure that evolves over time and comes through the process of governance. Roles can just have purpose, just have an accountability, or have both purpose and accountability. Low quality data - false assumptions unless we don't believe it as true, and instead see it as a basic information phase Ecolocate Came out of large meetings and trying to discuss high level things without getting prescriptive, but this is prescriptive, so it's a middle ground. As the DAO continues to grow more distributed, process and protocol are more useful. *Holocracy deep dive might be needed.* Do we all take time to learn it and discuss what parts we want to adopt. People who understand the process best can have more power. ## [April 4, 2022](https://hackmd.io/tmXcTusHQFqcfELfCdsj0g) James Young Stopped by: **DAO point system**, backed by verifiable credentials Issue a signed message, with same metadata format as OpenSea, can injest with other CollabLand servers. Is there oportunity for service work? Like helping DAOs spin up a DAO. **DAOhaus is a public good**, can tip to support the project. We have the tools to tell people to buy HAUS. What's the most efficient way to be a charity? Both tip and buy HAUS are public good options Does Ven have a doc about this? What is the utility to build with HAUS token? If they donate, then we buy HAUS. Simplify that as much as possible. Continuous transmutation or Yeeter, extended vesting We're not a charity, we're a public good! NFTs of tote bags and mugs instead of selling advertising. we can't win in the circus/casino of crypto we building a public good open source and publicly available on a blockchain and anyone can fork What we're building is valuable and that can overflow to contributors. Let's not loose capital that's necessary to build. Let's welcome capital towards DAOhaus and it's values and away from DAO things without the DAOhaus values. We want to get as much value to us and the community as possible. The mechanism for that is the HAUS token. Need more utility Don't need to focus on direct revenue, instead focus on getting creative with the token, to lead to sustainability.
