--- ###### tags: `Rangers` `CCO` --- # DH Mainnet Raise Outline Notes from the Travii, moving towards the "why" of the CCO, crafted as a blogpost. *Note: Let's identify pain points where my understanding is incorrect and/or incomplete, so I can further research and incorporate those learnings.* ### Who: War Camp - DAOhaus contributors comprise War Camp. - War Camp [revamped](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/discussion-contributor-compensation-revamp-proposal/1958) their [compensation scheme](https://github.com/HausDAO/daohaus-website/pull/125). - This has allowed us/them to more clearly understand the runway for operating costs, elucidating a clear trajectory in relation to the bigger picture. - Personnel costs are higher, for reasons: - Incentivizing high-quality contributions - Loyality, via the committment track - Led to the current realization that DH needs to fundraise. - How is War Camp composed? - Brief breakdown of work streams: - Magesmiths build with integrity - Paladins coordinate and identify value generators - Alchemists meditate on the token utility - Rangers disseminate the message internally and externally - Each camp focuses on community value generation from a distinct angle/POV ### What: CCO - What is a CCO? - TL;DR: an elegant combinatorics using the tools we are actively developing/innovating. The tools we use facillitate the fundraising while demonstrating the power of aligned communities (link to article). - Building primitives for coordination and collaboration, and also trying them out! - Our fundraising is open-source. Steal this idea and start your own CCO! - The tool reflects the values. - Gives contributors say, skin in the game, very different from a VC investment. Fundraising with integrity, focused on sustainable regenerative value over pure extraction. Provides *a reciprocal tether.* - This execution of the CCO model is, actually, still an experiment and a form of capital formation that we don't often see elsewhere. **The secret ingredient is ragequit.** *(RQ is a huge meme to flesh out. Requires some context. This is an opportunity for a Ranger to deep-dive on the importance of RQ.)* - What is Uberhaus? *(This might be cut, or linked to a more rigorous definition.)* - Our attempt at built-in transparency and community accountibility. - At first the custodian of the HAUS token, but potentially much more via the ongoing articulation of a federate ecosystem of DAOs. - UH is the foundation that the HAUS is built upon. - What is the significance of a federated DAO ecosystem? **To create a network of transparency, autonomy, and shared accountibility to address the rivalrous nature in ourselves and agonize together on creative, regenerative solutions.** - We are focused on identifying, generating, and distributing value for the greater good. ### When: ETH Denver - Why ETH Denver? *(This section might be explored in a thread to crowd source the significance.)* - **Moloch (development) is coming home!** This is where the Moloch contracts were hacked together. (Insert an account of Ameen crowd funding MolochDAO in 2019). - Mention of Baal development, in the spirit of composable communities, security, etc. Meme: Baal carries the torch. - Historically, many of the most significant ETH community developments happen during this time. (Insert a list of examples.) - We want to celebrate this historical event with the community IRL! We work in public and we want to celebrate in public. - DAOhaus was formed at a hackathon. - Brief origin story of DH being hacked together in Berlin. - Other DAOs in our community were formed this way: - RaidGuild, MetaCartel (?), etc. - ~~Hackathons are virtual communities manifesting in the meat space.~~ ETH Denver is where the virtual Ethereum community comes to congregate in the meat space. This event significantly boosts morale and co-support. *It's in the name: Eth Denver.* There is an important bridge being built here, aligned with Ethereum generally and our peers more specifically. Ethereans support public goods and strong communities: - Gitcoin - Panvala - Giveth - etc? - Meme: **There's no competition here. We are all building towards the same vision.** ### Where: ETH Mainnet - [Review the mechanics](https://hackmd.io/fRhRQMY5QaOWDuYcXbrgnQ?view) and provide a user-facing TL;DR overview. - **HAUS is coming home!** HAUS token on Ethereum Layer 1. - **We are Ethereans for very specific reasons:** - Privacy, autonomy, collective action, radical agency to articulate an alternative political orientation that restores people (Layer 0) as the primary concerns - Security via cryptography, codified law, securing and empowering individuals with programmable money that overturns dependencies on centralized autohority. - Composability. (Reference: Vitalik's founding principles.) Identify mutable and immutable parts, ie: the ethics are immutable! The infrastructure is eternally composable. (How would devs define this point?) - We have been using Gnosis chain (xDAI) to experiment faster - we support Layering - but our core values are attached to Ethereum. - Ethereum is **a globally accessible digital persistence layer.** (link to the last Haus Party?) - But not *everybody*. The access is still highly mediated and economic privleges. We must be weary of this universal language. **DH is working to increase accessibility and composability, to put the power of community organization back in the hands of the user.** *(Does this sound right? Reference the thread on compromise, decen maximalization, etc.)* - Regenerative cryptoeconomics over perverse degenerate value extraction. - Ethereum is a digital public good that leads to physical public goods. This is the greater roadmap we align with. ### So what *exactly?* #### Roadmap - We have a clear [roadmap](https://daohaus.club/docs/handbook/contributors/magesmiths/roadmap/) of where we want to go. *(Magesmiths: Now is the time to increase the fidelity on the roadmap before we attract lots of eyes to it!)* - We only have 4 months of runway left. **This is a call to arms! Rally for the cause! Meme: A rising tide lifts all boats!** - This roadmap is for a product that we stand behind. **Meme: The proof is in the bricks and mortar.** We use our own tools everyday, and so do you (if you're doing it right)! *(Insert a graph of DH DAOs that have been summoned? DH user increase in 2021? Insert link to the Year-End Review)* - We dogfood our core community values to **practice what we preach.** That's how much we believe in this. #### Constitution - For these reasons, we are currently focused on articulating a clear **constitution** to represent how our product reflects our values, **to allow the community to align under one roof.** - A constitution is a speculation/prognostication tool for projecting intentions into the future, to align around a collective vision of what is to come and how we will build it. - We are always already manifesting this vision in our own structure from the bottom up, from the composition of War Camp to the open-source regen legos that we offer to the community. - Even though it's not written yet, the constitution clearly and succinctly communicates our values: - Open-source, community-first, building in public, regenerative and sustainable community funding, etc. - **A constitution leverages the founding of a nation.** - This has a particular weight in the USA. Are we referencing the American Constitution, or the Declaration of Independence, or the Bill of Rights? - We do not purport to follow in the tradition of helping the rich get richer, increasing the disparity between citizens/classes, fortifying privitized ownership over resources *or each other*, mobilized industry to extract value from the earth and people. We propose a different kind of nation. - Not a declaration of independence: We offer **A Declaration of Interdependence.** If you want to go fast, go alone. We are focused on going the distance, and that means supporting each other to get there. *(This is an internal CTA, to rally War Camp behind a public articulation of common/shared values. This is also an external CTA. Everyone in the community is invited to contributing to this vision!).* - Don't call it a revolution. - Look at the history of violent usurpation, uprisings, and political coups. This is part and parcel with the violence of the 20th century. We do not wish to perpetuate this traumatizing mentality. - This insistence on radical independence has caused more harm than good. It's more complex than a simple story of good vs. evil. Violent revolutions are a zero sum game, a multipolar trap (race to the bottom). **We envision an alternative, a non-zero sum game** that we are carefully and meticulously assembling. - This is how we will slay Moloch! Moloch lives in language, feeds upon misunderstanding, travels through our mimetic machinery when there isn't enough consideration of the values they represent. We refuse to allow our values to be thrown under the bus of dissociated optimization schemes of pure progress or expansion or manifest destiny. - We declare our interdependence on our peers: RG, MC, etc. We will go far together! - Related (thread on decentralization maxies) to distribution of power, but also distribution of all resources. Centralization amounts to disproportionate and unethical value extraction, disrupting the equilibrium of natural systems. Decentralization is a mental calibration tool for adjusting this alignment. (?) #### Ops and Projects - So what will the Mainnet Raise funds be supporting? - War Camp operations, building: - DH UI, Moloch contracts, CCO funding schemes, user-friendly documentation for DAOs, boosts, etc. - Ongoing articulations of community values to inform *how we build*. - Shiny new legos like Yeeter! WTF is Yeeter? - TL;DR on Yeeter. Public goods, community investment, etc. Inject integrity and positive ethics into a game that has historically been rivalrous, competitive, centralized, and self-serving. - We hope this regen cryptoecon lego will be widely adopted. Not to hype ourselves, but to empower others! Radical coordination over rivalrous competition. - Yeet into the DAOhaus CCO. The secret ingredient is ragequit. - The composability of the tech is key. Interate on this lego/primitive for your own ends! Put it to use! We offer you this tool to do cool shit with. It's up to you to take up the torch! - **The DH community is focused on empowering your community.** **We want to empower you to quickly fundraise your projects/teams with integrity, to increase the freedom of our own organizations, to ensure your soverignty/agency/autonomy/privacy is secured.** ### Why: To avoid the mistakes of the past - We believe in radical decentralization. - To avoid the tyranny of top-down development. Horizontal/teal orgs and structures. - **Meme: Our values are visible at every scale of our architecture, on every floor of the Haus.** - **Meme: DAOs all the way down!** - War Camp > DH > UH > Ecosystem - What is a DAO? - A DAO is about the people involved, as well as the tools. They reflect each other. A minimally viable DAO is 2+ people successfully coordinating through an interface for an aligned purpose. - We define it as access to the globally accessible digital persistence layer, the foundation upon which we build our Haus. - We are coordinating more than mere money. We are aligning our core human values. ***What are you coordinating for?*** *(Maybe the final statement of the article?)* - Here's an opportunity for an inclusivity statement. Does it already exist? - DH encourages a diversity of POVs. **These tools/ethics are not exclusive to insiders.** *(How do we represent this? Not a statement of political correctness... we accept women, trans, minorities, etc. This should be poetically and potently stated to be as invitational as possible while avoiding universal language.)* - **We embrace dissensus. Disagreement is a productive friction that generates potential energy for our community value generators.** *(This is a huge issue to unpack, maybe deserving of another tread.
