# Haus Party Critique
March 22, 2022 - TW's POV
### In Response to Heavy Party Vibes
*What kind of party do we want to host?*
- Has TW provided **too much**... rigor? Weight? Sobreity to the party? Let's reflect and discuss to identify what direction we want to lean into.
- We might consider **TW stepping back from vocal hosting** so that other voices from DH and the community can step in.
- We might continue to **focus on structure behind the scenes, to strategize topics, streamline tools and workflow, without filling the convo with dense language**.
- On that point, do we want to create structure to ensure a **diversity of voices**? Some initial suggestions:
- Create a sign up sheet for WarCamp members to volunteer to be on stage so the roster is always shifting and we always get a different perspective.
- Provide the next topic to the community well in advance (on Mondays), maybe with supplemental references, so the community can be more prepared to join in the convo and reduce surprise. This will *keep the conversation going over the whole week*, instead of just Thrusdays.
- Perhaps with some additional structure, like *the hosts focusing on setting up the topic with clear context, references, annecdotes, and a case study, and then practicing restraint with our own opinions/biases in order to focus on the opinions of the audience*
- Curating notable guests from our community in relation to the chosen topic - *not to be interviewed*, but as a guest panelist to join the convo. This is an opportunity for some intentional diversity by design, ie: voices of fems, anon, nonbinary, POC, less visible communities, etc.
- Curation allows for **deliberate pluriversality and diversity of perspectives**.
- How do we balance **breadth** and **depth** of the convo?
- Let's consider articulating some **cultural success metrics** for these conversations. Is it about...
- Participation?
- Casting a wide net to include as many divergent perpsectives as possible?
- Drilling down on a narrowed topic to see how far we can push it or to identify the perimeter between DAOs and the """real""" world?
- Practicing reflexivity as a community, to take relevant topics of the day and share a DH-centric voice to be part of a larger conversation?
- All of the above, all at once?
- All of the above, with each episode dedicated to focusin on just one strategy so we don't spread ourselves too thin?
