--- ###### tags: `Haus Party Strategy` --- # Haus Party brainstorm prep for March 17: SCALE SCALE (What is it good for?) Might we devise strong incentives for not scaling? Are these negative incentives? There are clear returns on scale. We are currently driven by financial incentives, so everyone scales as much as possible - amounting to border tensions everywhere. How do we positively incentivize scale? Via federation: thinking in systems, beyond the thing. Being a connective over a collective. Being a steward of a meaning and narrative. Self-interestedness > extractive mechanism :: Is this an organizational ego failure? A psychic/psychological MOLOCH? Organizations have strong ego. How might we organize differently? How do we become aware of the conditions of ego formation (and our complacency in participating in this formation) and meditate on issues of scale to empower ourselves from thinking/feeling differently? Growth (as a positive movement) vs. Degrowth (as a necessary movement). correlated to sustainability (ala sustainment). What is unsustainable about scale? What are the elements that emerge and how can we come to recognize them? As a product DAO and a community of builders, how do we reconcial with the limits of growth? How do we pull back and practice restraint while trying to sustain the product (and its attached ethos)? Is scale Web2.0? Recipe for economies of scale: get a product to a certain level, dump on marketing, move on to another project. Related to industrial mass production, motivated to rake in profits. Eventually the product just becomes a marketing engine. How does making a project bigger make it better? How might we unlearn this behavior and develop a Web3-DAO style of scaling? We need to gain control over a different narrative. DH has been doing this for awhile, others are now coming in and shifting it towards capital gains that are opposed to true innovation in this space. We don’t have it all figured out, but we know which direction we are heading. Is this a place/time to ruminate upon DAOhaus’ RevGen strategies? How can we create a sustainable product that facillitate greater coordination with integrity, without feeling like we are extracting from our community? How might DAOhaus handle scaling and revenue?
