PublicHaus is a platform that governs the DAOhaus Protocol, which simplifies the process of creating and managing decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). The platform provides an intuitive interface with user-friendly tools and protocols, including governance frameworks, mechanisms for voting and proposals, and functionality to manage membership and funding. DAOs can be customized using an SDK that gives developers the necessary tools to build custom DAO applications tailored to the unique needs of each community. DAOhaus empowers communities to achieve their goals while reinforcing their sovereignty. The platform fosters good faith governance, and seamless integration with Ethereum smart contracts, enabling groups of purpose driven communities to easily establish and operate their own decentralized organizations. DAOhaus is making it easier for anyone to engage with blockchain technology meaningfully while promoting greater decentralization and democratization in the world of blockchain governance. ### Why do you believe what you are building is going to succeed? We believe that the tools created at DAOhaus are the best available to build DAOs, providing DAOs to build how they want, not how the developers of a protocol want them to be. The product is open source and freely available to use for the public to iterate and build on. The protocol will thrive when governed properly with PublicHaus. We aim to be a truly decentralized organization adding to the strength of the protocol. We have prepared for the next wave of crypto integration and are confident in the potential of DAOs to revolutionize the way organizations operate. We have a strong community of supporters and contributors who share our vision and are actively involved in the development and governance of PublicHaus. This community includes developers, designers, DAO enthusiasts, and investors who have a vested interest in seeing the protocol succeed. Our approach to governance emphasizes transparency, community involvement, and decentralized decision-making, which helps build trust and foster collaboration within the ecosystem. By empowering users to participate in the decision-making process and have a say in the direction of the protocol, we can create a truly democratic and sustainable ecosystem. We are confident in the potential of PublicHaus to revolutionize the way organizations operate and believe that our product is well-positioned to lead this change. We are committed to the continued development and governance of the protocol and look forward to working with our community to build a more decentralized and equitable future. ### How many users does your project have currently? *Please include how you arrived at this estimate* This can be difficult to pin down. Many people belong to more than one DAO and it may not be the best metric for us. We do have extensive metrics available, some of which are highlighted below in the answer to the "metrics" question. ### How will receiving a grant enable you to further the mission of maximizing the number of users interacting with Optimism? Please include a step-by-step flow of how you imagine this grant can lead to a greater number of user interactions with Optimism:** We are currently operating under a Objective and Key Results system. Every three months we open up the proposals for OKRs which is meant to guide us for during the quarter. Which objectives are to be pursued are democratically decided via a vote using our Signal app. Our current signal vote can be found [here](https://signal.daohaus.fun/#/tcr/0x48538a34d243856345af9389617c31e795377c1a) What this signal allows us to do is for a PublicHaus member to spread their votes across a their preferred selections, proportiante to their shares in the DAO.

Objectives and Key Results

By the time this proposal is submitted, Objective 3 will have been completed and Increasing the adoption of our DAO building tools is moving up to a top three objective for the DAO. Within that objective, there are a number of Key Results we have already identified, which are: - Onboard at least 4 new High Quality DAOs - Host at Least 1 Workshop or Training Event Per Month - Launch a Referal Program... It is our hope that a grant from Optimism will help us in meeting these Key Results by helping us to provide incentives for DAOs to use our tools and start DAOs on Optimisim, as well this will also derve to work as the referal program as we intend for the grant process to be competitive. ### Tell us about the users you plan to target with this grant. *Include any defining characteristics that will help you identify and target them* We hope to attract purpose-driven communities that wish to coordinate. This could be any group of people, from a local social club, to potentially some of the biggest DAOs in the world. We also hope to attract developers and or developer teams that wish to build tooling with our SDK. ### How would these users interact with Optimism? For how long? Hopefully users will interact on Optimism on a near daily basis, as we hope that DAO "users" are actice participants in the DAOs they belong to. ### Provide us with links to any of the following for the project:** Note: The links below represent both PublicHaus and DAOhaus. #### Demos: - [Safe Upgrade to DAO](https://www.loom.com/share/2eb949ee7d214ec4bf97ddc0035c4fd5) - [Public Haus Onboarder](https://www.loom.com/share/377b199358414e7586fd59134ab387c4) - [Summon Demo](https://www.loom.com/share/59d547c6059a4ab7806d88607553e015) - [DAOhaus Admin](https://www.loom.com/share/cf2a44dfb2b84aa886a7b2da16cf1434) - [Rage Quit and Delegate](https://www.loom.com/share/a69a59792ac8408d98739d30ca683fd4) #### Website - https://publichaus.club/ - https://daohaus.club/ #### Twitter - https://twitter.com/nowdaoit #### Discord/Discourse/Community - https://discord.gg/daohaus - https://forum.daohaus.club/ #### Github - https://github.com/HausDAO #### Technical/Economic Documentation - https://publichaus.club/docs/welcome/ - https://docs.daohaus.club/ #### Other - https://admin.daohaus.fun/ - https://www.youtube.com/@daohaus5256 - https://daohaus.substack.com/ - https://daohaus.mirror.xyz/ - https://summon.daohaus.fun/ ### Do you have any metrics on the project currently? PublicHaus was formed as v3 of DAOhaus was being publically released. It was designed to be decentralized from the start. The current membership can be found [here](https://admin.daohaus.fun/#/molochv3/0x1/0xf844b98df9ccdfbe5d460d0d7bdca232cf9da923/members). DAOhaus itself was/is managed by a core team called Warcamp. The membership in Warcamp is [here](https://app.daohaus.club/dao/0x64/0xef3d8c4fbb1860fceab16595db7e650cd5ad51c1/members) DAOhaus was originally founded by Dekan Brown, Sam Kuhlmann and Ven Gist. They gave up power to Warcamp very early allowing DAOhaus to be developed in a decentralized way. This mantra of decentralization has led to PublicHaus, further decentralizing the protocol. ### What makes your team well-suited to carry out the project described in this proposal? - Decentralized - Members of PublicHaus have "skin in the game" - We not only developed the tools, we dogfood everything we build so we know it works. ### Is this your first Web3 project? No, collectively we have a gazilllion years of Web3 experience. PublicHaus members weave a web throughout the Web3 space. Other projects members have played integral roles in founding and operating some of the best known DAOs in the space. Some of the projects (just to name a few) include: - Meta Cartel - Raid Guild - Yeet - Moloch DAO - Hats Protocol - Moloch Mystics ### If not, what else have you built? (Share links, Github repository, or any other useful information.): Below is a list of some of the team that helped guide DAOhaus to V3. Some have moved on to other projects but many remain to be a part of Public Haus. - [01000011](https://github.com/binary01000011) | Content / UX - [adrienne](https://github.com/adriennetilley) | Designer| - [Amos](https://github.com/arentweall) | DevRel | - [Avi](https://github.com/7helles) | Designer / UX - [Bau](https://github.com/burleebau) | Content - [Bill](https://github.com/wswarren12) | Developer - [Boilerrat](https://github.com/boilerrat) | Content - [Brian](https://github.com/brossetti1) | Developer - [Christina](https://github.com/BorrowLucid) | Content - [earth2travis](https://github.com/earth2travis) | Product Manager - [Dekan Brown](https://github.com/dekanbro) | Developer - [Jord](https://github.com/jordanlesich) | Developer - [JP](https://github.com/jonathanprozzi) | Project Manager - [Jeremy](https://github.com/jekl0x) | Tester - [Keating](https://github.com/alexkeating) | Developer - [Plor](https://github.com/plor) | Project Manager - [Santiago](https://github.com/santteegt) | Developer - [Sam Kuhlmann](https://github.com/skuhlmann) | Developer - [Scott](https://github.com/scottrepreneur) | Developer - [Spencer](https://github.com/slgraham) | Product Manager / PR - [TW](https://github.com/TravisWyche) | Documenter - [UI369](https://github.com/UI369) | DevRel - [VEN](https://github.com/oovg) | Designer ## Grant Request **What is the size of the grant request? (250k OP max):** 150K ### How do you justify the size of the grant? We intend to begin a program that incentivizes people to summon DAOs on Optimism. With a sizeable amount of OP tokens to reward to DAOs starting DAOs on OP, we will be able to provide a unique opportunity to bootstrap communities and therefore users to OP. As per the Constitution of the Optimism Collective "" ### Roadmap and Distribution Plan Total Timeline: 28 Weeks - Initial Planning Marketing 2 Weeks - Application Periods 3 Weeks Per Round - 1 Week For Review and Presentations Per Round - 1 Week Voting and Distribution Per Round - Distribution Points First 1/2: - Round 1 Week 7 - Round 2 Week 11 - Round 3 Week 15 - Milestone: Week 16 Prepare Report 1 Week (overlaps with program continuation) - Distribution Points Second 1/2: - Round 4 Week 19 - Round 5 Week 23 - Round 6 Week 27 - Final Review and Report 1 Week ### Distribution of tokens would be done as follows Tokens will be distributed through a grants program for DAOs that summon using our tools on Optimism or for developer teams that use the SDK to make a custom DAO app on OP. 25K tokens will be awarded per month for a total of 6 months. The program would run for 6 months. Every month 5 DAOs or developer teams will be awarded 5000 OP tokens. Applicants will have a three week period in between rounds to submit their DAO or project on our governance forums. After that there will be a one week review and presentation period (if req) followed by a week vote using our signal app. After this voting period is completed, funds will be distributed to the winning DAOs or teams. Total distribution will be 150,000 OP tokens. ### Describe in discrete steps how you will successfully implement your grant plan - 1 week - Assemble team prepare marketing - 1 week - Marketing - 3 Weeks - Accepting applications - 1 week - Review Round 1 / Presentations - Marketing for Round 2 - 3 Weeks - Signal App Voting Round 1 - Winners Decided and Distribution Round 1 - 25,000 OP Awarded (5 DAOs, 5000 OP each) - Round 2 Applications - 1 Week - Review Round 2 / Presentations - Marketing for Round 3 - 3 Weeks - Signal App Voting Round 2 - Winners Decided and Distribution Round 2 - 25,000 OP Awarded (5 DAOs, 5000 OP each) - Round 3 Applications - 1 Week - Round 3 / Presentations - Marketing for Round 4 - 3 Weeks - Signal App Voting Round 3 - Winners Decided and Distribution Round 3 - 25,000 OP Awarded (5 DAOs, 5000 OP each) - Round 4 Applications - **MILESTONE**: Prepare Mid-Program Report during this period. - 1 Week - Review Round 4 / Presentations - Marketing for Round 5 - 3 Weeks - Signal App Voting Round 4 - Winners Decided and Distribution Round 4 - 25,000 OP Awarded (5 DAOs, 5000 OP each) - Round 5 Applications - 1 Week - Round 5 / Presentations - Marketing for Round 6 - 3 Weeks - 1 week Signal App Voting Round 5 - Winners Decided and Distribution Round 5 - 25,000 OP Awarded (5 DAOs, 5000 OP each) - Round 6 Applications - 1 Week - Review Round 6 / Presentations - 1 Week - Signal App Voting Round 6 - Winners Decided and Distribution Round 6 - 25,000 OP Awarded (5 DAOs, 5000 OP each) - 1 Week - **Project Completion:** Prepare Program Completion Report and Post. ### How will the OP tokens be distributed? *please include % allocated to different initiatives such as user rewards/marketing/liquidity mining. Please also include a justification as to why each of these initiatives align with the problem statement this proposal is solving. Distribution should not include the sale of any tokens by the grantee or the use of tokens for compensation, protocol expenses, etc. See the no sale rule here 1)* The 100% of the tokens will be distributed as grants to DAOs or to teams that use the DAOhaus SDK to create DAOs on Optimism. Applicants will have a three week period between rounds where they post their proposal to our governance forums. This will be followed by a 1 week review period followed by a DAO vote using our signal app. Our App allows member to spread their votes, proportionate to their DAO shares, acroos any number of applicants, to give weight for applications they believe in. Winners will then have their token distributed to them via the DAO. All transactions and voting are fully on chain. ### Over what period of time will the tokens be distributed for each initiative? The program will run for 28 weeks. ### Please provide benchmark milestones for this project. *These milestones should guide the Optimism community on the progress of your project throughout your work on the project. Do not use distribution of the grant itself as a milestone:* Benchmark Milestones will be monthly. We intend to provide grants for 5 DAOs a month for 6 months. (25,000 OP tokens per month, 5000 OP per grant). This will enable us to meet our goals in our current OKR round, with some cushion room. This not only incentivizing new DAOs to use our protocol, but it is also incentivizing growth on the Optimisim network. ### Please define critical milestones for this project. *Critical milestones are meant to show good-faith efforts to accomplish the project. Non-completion of these milestones could lead to revocation of remaining grant rewards. Do not use distribution of the grant itself as a milestone:* A critical milestone would be half way through the distribution, 3 month. At this point we should have distributed tokens to 15 DAOs. This will be accountable as all transaction and voting will be onchain long form proposals and discussions for grant applications on our governance forums. ### If the OP tokens are for direct distribution to users, why will incentivized users and liquidity on Optimism remain after incentives dry up? We hope to create sticky and lasting organizations that use the tools daily to perform actions in their DAO(s). With that, we hope that the OP tokens become part of the DAOs treasury, as it will add value to their DAO to hold them. As these will be organizations that will continue hopefully continue to exist on Optimisim and it would be in their best interests to hodl in order to partake in governance on the network. Being that these are DAOs, the likelihood of DAO members understanding this concept is certainly increased. ### Please provide any additional information that will facilitate accountability (smart contracts addresses relevant to the proposal, relevant organizational wallet addresses, etc.): **TODO public haus address on OP??** **TODO signal app on op??** **DAO PROP TO START PROGRAM** ## Optimism Relationship ### Does your project solve a problem for the Optimism ecosystem? If so how?: We feel there is a strong sense of alignment between the decision that were made in th e development of Public Haus and Optimisim. We have developed DAO Haus, as not only a *free and easy* way to start a DAO but have also let loose a complete development package and all of the libraries a development team needs to build completly customized DAO applications using the DAO haus protocol. We hope that we have provided enough options that people can start iterating and building right away.Having a chain like Optimisim to do this on is an opportunity that we hope is not missed. We want to see these tools being used and we are truly excited to see what people come up with. As is seen in the charts above, DAOs summoned on Optimism had a slow but steady growth rate of growth. With V3, we hope to see that rate increase and this program aims to play a role in doing so. ### Why will this solution be a source of growth for the Optimism ecosystem? A DAO, by it's very nature, is about building a comminity around a common goal. We hope to set the conditions to allow this to happen easiy. ### Is your project Optimism Native? Our project is not Native to Optimisim. DAOhaus was originally developed for and on Mainnet. When this became unsustainable to develop on due to gas costs, DAOhaus was primarily being built on Gnosis chain. For development, it worked very well for us. As the development phase has come to an end and the time has come to implement everything the tools and we transition to a Public Good we feel it is best that Public HAUS find a new home that aligns with our values. Optimism is a strong contender to become the HAUS for HAUS. ### Confirmations I understand that I will be required to provide additional KYC information to the Optimism Foundation to receive this grant: [Yes/No]: Yes I understand that I will be expected to following the public grant reporting requirements outlined here: [Yes/No]: Yes
