--- title: RFP Concearns tags: Request For Proposal --- # RFP Concerns ## RFP Round DAO emits an RFP for each of the categories: - Any DAO member produces RFP - Spam curation: 2 members vouch for RFP - What if multiple RFPs for a category (hmm?) - RFP uses this template: https://hackmd.io/@daohaus/H1M3Ml_q9 ### RFP Categories **Software** 54% $55064 Ship DAOhaus V3 Ensure DAOhaus v2 runs smoothly **Ecosystem** 12% $3,847 Strengthen our developer ecosystem Build partnerships with external organizations Incubate new DAOs **Strategy** 14% $4,526 Set up DAOhaus governance for success Ensure DAO operations run smoothly Determine high level DAOhaus strategy **People** 9% $3,039 Strengthen DAOhaus brand and awareness Strengthen our user community Contribute to DAO public goods **Funds** 11% $3,524 Expand our current funding Maintain our current funds ## Bidding round * Bidders generate proposals for RFPs * Spam Curation: 2 WC members vouch for the proposal * A list of proposals is taken to the next phase * Added as issues in an RFP Github Repo * Concerns: What if 2 proposals overlap with each other or try to solve the same problem? Which has authority? ## Selection * Proposals are put up for ranked choice voting by DAO members * Share weighted voting occurs * Ranked list of proposals is generated * Concerns: ## Negotiations * Top proposals are selected within budget * In the case of overlap or budget concerns, case by case negotiation takes place * Concerns: Who does this negotiation? Who formulates the final list? --- - Let's say DAOhaus gets funds - right of first refusal goes to Proposals that were denied due to budget concerns. - prorated. - Writers are rarely paid on salary - put pay on bounties. Clear & Fair - Whats the grounding for an RFP (where does it come from?) - What's the approval process - What's the negotiation process - What's the finalization process Keep it simple - Complexity provides a vector of attack - Council of top 3 Shareholders Rounds & Adjustments - Adjusting commitment down - If 2 proposals cover same domain? --- WC Chat from Dekan --- Going into the last day of this cycle here are details on the RFP process and how it came about. Some context from the forums if you missed it https://forum.daohaus.club/t/an-integrative-plan-for-cycle-5-budget-commitments/11184/2 After Warcamp all hands on Monday it was clear that we would not make the budget through voluntary stable cuts. This puts us in a hard position of prioritizing one of our initiatives. Through our previous discussions and surveys, it seemed generally that people thought the product was a priority. So I decided to explore the RFP solution. Maybe a "Ask for forgiveness not permission” moment RFP seemed the best option to get out of gridlock, it checks all the boxes and gets us back to work in the next cycle. So to be clear, this is getting rid of the current compensation model and going to a project based deliverables approach. This whole process has been an exercise of sacrifice, prioritization and coming to acceptance with our new reality. And most of all compromise. I made a RFP for the product team at 55k/mo stables. This is to address the top 2 priorities on our attention list and which leaves 15-20k for the other 11 on the list. I have also made other RFPs I’ll be posting later today and hopefully we see more RFPs from other members. Today I'll be posting details of this RFP model proposal on the forum and will be working with some members to smooth out the RFP process so we set ourselves up for success. If the product team can get a proposal together today, we can get it on chain and go into the next cycle with this behind us. If not… we got bigger problems. - Any member (WC/UH) can make an RFP by creating a tagged thread - Anyone can make a proposal to fill it - Discussion can be made in the thread - If a proposal to fill a RFP gets a quorum(TBD) of likes from members it moves to a on-chain ratification - Proposal submitted by the proposal maker/lead - Funds are transferred to team on successful dao vote - Short/medium/long term goals and quarterly budgets should be defined/aligned by DAO to help prioritize RFPs - We start simple with this process and can iterate with more conviction/token mechanics over time - ranked choice voting / conviction voting - important to have which of the 13 attentions this is RFP is addressing
