We have a longer-term vision than most; we aren’t looking for the quick win. We are the rebels, geeks, visionaries, and underdogs. We are the people who care way too much about DAOs. [We had an incredible year.](https://daohaus.substack.com/p/daohaus-2021-a-year-of-harvest-a) We are WarCamp. The WarCamp of DAOhaus is composed of four pillars that keep the HAUS upright. - **Magesmiths** *build* with integrity. - **Paladins** *coordinate* and identify value generators. - **Alchemists** *meditate* on token utility. - **Rangers** *disseminate* the message internally and externally. Each camp focuses on value generation from a distinct point of view to address the complexities of keeping the platform and community running smoothly. [WarCamp's recent work stream compensation revamp](https://daohaus.substack.com/p/-what-is-a-community-contribution) has allowed us to more succinctly visualize the runway of our operations, elucidating a clear trajectory in relation to the bigger picture. We have been successful in incentivizing high-quality and loyal contributors and operating costs have risen proportionally to reflect this. Fundraising has always been inevitable and the time has come to strategize our Community Contribution Opportunity (CCO) once again. ### Why a CCO? This isn't [the first capital coordination rodeo for DAOhaus](https://daohaus.substack.com/p/community-contribution-opportunity). In 2020, DAOhaus invented the first ever CCO to fund the build-out of our platform for purpose-driven community DAOs. We mobilized this elegant combinatorics to demonstrate the power of aligned communities while bootstrapping tools for coordination and collaboration. The CCO is an open-source community-dependent value generator giving contributors skin in the game. This mechanism for fundraising with integrity prioritizes sustainable value regeneration over pure extraction by providing *a reciprocal tether* between projects and supporters. Another cornerstone to our CCO bedrock is UberHaus, the fondly termed *DAO of DAOs*. UberHaus regulates the distribution of the HAUS token, placing economic governance in the hands of the DAOs that compose our ecosystem. UberHaus is actively reimagining itself as a federated ecology of DAO-to-DAO coordination. We imagine a network symbolizing the potency of transparency, autonomy, and shared accountibility in addressing our own rivalrous (that is to say *human*) propensities. UberHaus represents a standing invitation for the DAOhaus network to agonize together on creative solutions for identifying, generating, and distributing value for the greater good. We know the infrastructure and tools must be considered alongside the social and cultural elements as all are important for what we are doing. We are facillitating humans to manifest themselves (as communities) in the ways that they want without being captured by hierarchies. The CCO expresses our values and goals while also articulating how they might differ from others. We seek to put every member of a community in power, to distribute power through a community. We are not trying to build for giant protocol DAOs. ### HAUS Has Come Home (to Mainnet) We had a blast with you at ETHDenver! This is where the Moloch contracts were [first hacked together](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abTRJZcmPwI). Moloch contracts are the base of our recipes and the secret ingredient to the CCO is ragequit, the most important feature of the Moloch DAOs we so firmly believe in. Moloch contracts coalesce deliciously with our insistence on baked-in transparency and collective accountibility in the spirit of composable communities, privacy, and security. DAOhaus continues to carry the torch through our collaborative co-development of Moloch v3 contracts, code-named Baal, alongside MetaCartelians and other Etherean champions. DAOhaus was itself formed at a hackathon (EthBerlin 2019), so we know how important these meatspace gatherings are for facillitating magical connections. We support the Ethereum advocacy for privacy, autonomy, collective action, and radical agency that restores people (Layer 0) as the core concern. The cryptography of our network is codified into our tools, securing and empowering individuals with programmable money and social composability to craft their communities on their own terms. Our ethics are immutable while the infrastructure remains eternally open-source and composable. ETHDenver significantly boosts morale and co-support in the larger Ethereum community by reinforcing the principle that there is no competition in the battle against Moloch. We are all building towards the same vision. HAUS came home to Ethereum at ETHDenver! DAOhaus was successful in raising capital to extend the runway for WarCamp to continue building DAOhaus and establish a deep liquidity for the HAUS token on Mainnet to support current and future capital raises. This supports ongoing HAUS operations while prioritizing resiliency of value over number-go-up speculations. This is a significant moment for our community. We understand Ethereum to be a globally accessible digital persistence layer that perpetuates regenerative cryptoeconomics and community-first values over perversely degenerate value extraction. Our greater roadmap supports the vision that Ethereum is a digital public good that leads to physical public goods. This is the gwei. ### We are Buidlers. This is Our HAUS. Our 2022 goals are clear. DAOhaus V3 will be released soon. The new platform is *even more* modular and gives community DAOs access to the exploding ecosystem of DAO tooling while maintaining the human-friendly UX they crave. This ensures more flexibility, optionality, and customization for DAOs across their entire lifecycle. We are designing a seemless integration for the new Moloch V3 (Baal) contracts, providing exciting summoning options for projects to start their own [Yeeters](https://yeet.daohaus.club/) and CCOs, and are dedicated to providing a more thoroughly decentralized platform stack. The expanded *Boost Marketplace* will offer even more tools for community-led governance while allowing Boost developers to earn revenue for their contributions. The new *Services Marketplace* will facillitate more DAO-to-DAO relations, and we have a few more tricks up our sleeves! We stand behind the integrity of our product. *The proof is in the bricks and mortar.* We use our own tools everyday and so do you (if you're DAOing it right)! We dogfood our core community values to practice what we preach while empowering your community to thrive. Our new platform offers tools to quickly fundraise with integrity and increases the freedom of your organization once it is summoned while ensuring that your soverignty, agency, autonomy, and privacy come first. A DAO is about the people involved, as well as the tools for coordination; they reflect each other. Providing access to the globally accessible digital persistence layer is the foundation upon which we build our HAUS. For these reasons, we prepared a document to align our community values under one (ideological) roof. This document will serve as a prognostication tool for projecting our intentions into the uncertain future. We wish to present a collective vision that we can build towards and hold ourselves accountable to. We are focused on going the distance and that means supporting each other to get there. We hope this document will serve as [**a declaration of our interdependence,** a manifesto to represent our core values.](https://hackmd.io/@daohaus/Bkj2Z4e15) ### Now that the Dust Has Cleared The CCO brought together many of the awesome things we have been building in the Haus and served as a great demonstration of the power of our community. We have adhered to our principles and the integrity is being recognized. Solid planning organized across the various circles of WarCamp led to a unified effort. This process gave us a reason to increase the clarity of our vision, mission, and values, and even resulted in a new DAOhaus manifesto. That being said, the CCO3 proved to be a humbling learning experience for us all. We can help but wonder if the presence of some funds in the CCO from early Yeeters might have muddled the clarity of subsequent partnership-focused rounds. The CCO mechanics might have proven to be too complex for some. Was the complexity worth the tradeoff? We will continue working on how to elegantly explain the details to our community by rendering the terminology more accessible and testing the impact of particular language usage on specific users. Some of the confusion arose from our own uncertainty of how we should weave the narrative. Are folks donating, investing, or contributing? What is the lexicon for a web3 value-generating project that isn't a for-profit corporation? We need to find the right language to accurately describe what we're doing without running afoul of regulation and these learnings will prove invaluable for other projects in the ecosystem that are interested in deploying their own CCO campaigns. Compared to the CCO2's emphasis on public communication, CCO3 felt more like a guerrilla campaign to attract strongly aligned folks. We recognize that the incentives for contributors need to be reevaluated. It may be risky to continue asking for donations within the same ecosystem without providing meaningful rewards and we must address the user option of simply buying HAUS on the open market. Should we have considered a Y33t token? Maybe next time! We hope these calue propositions will become much more clear once we expand the utility of the HAUS token. There is a future risk that our structure will grow in complexity as we continue to scale our community. We need to continue to focus on bringing in fresh participants so we're not relying on the same people to support us every round, as this will dilute the perceived value of the HAUS token. How do we expand our reach beyond the MetaCartel ecosystem? How do we manage expectations for token price and utility? The goal of mainnet liquidity is to allow DAOs to acquire a firm HAUS position, index the token, provide general accessibility, and increase retail buy activity. It's unclear if the thin liquidity on Gnosis Chain utimately helped us or worked against us. Timing was an issue. The early Yeet period didn't seem particularly effective. We failed to anticipate that many people wouldn't have their ledgers on them at ETH Denver. It seems that the the full concurrency with ETH Denver, which we thought would work to our benefit, may have drowned our signal in all of the noise of the convention. What if we had an ETH event for the CCO to create our own schelling point? Maybe we can consider some IRL activities for MCON2 that focus on a smaller, more DAO-focused approach? We could also extend the Yeet period after the event so everyone has more bandwidth for YOLOing in. We are proud to announce that the Yeeter worked perfectly! We learned a lot from the previous CCOs and developed a stable platform for performing our fundraising with our own tools, the perfect alignment of our values and the products we are building to uphold them. We will continue to help communities prepare their own Yeeter campaigns and set them up for autonomous success. Maybe there's a Yeeter service DAO in the works, or a more formalized Yeeter concierge process in the Haus? Let us know your thoughts as we continue to learn the hard lessons and improve upon the CCO model in the future. ### Call to Action: Next Steps - [Read about the Community Contribution Opportunity.](https://daohaus.substack.com/p/community-contribution-opportunity) - Read about [the Yeeter project. ](https://yeet.daohaus.club/) - Hit us up on [the Discord server](https://discord.gg/VhTMZWzVUX) and let us know what you think!
