# The Other Route
### Why creating a single purpose app is not the best idea
- It requires us to shift our entire direction, value prop, purpose--essentially everything to satisfying one set of users. There's more than just technical considerations here. Many people who work on this app do it
- Explaining to the community that finances and supports us that we want to build a Defi-only DAO app could cause some problems. It may not even happen.
- It's better to let users customize their DAO to their own use case. They know what they want better than we do.
- There's no sustainable way to build a DAO for every use case. Most users will always get left out.
- My personal purpose is to create a platform that empowers people to do what they want. Having only one choice runs contrary to that (at least in some ways)
- We did all this work to design v3
- If we build this and v3 at the same time, it would split efforts. Neither would get built well.
### Why creating a single purpose app is the best idea
- Limiting scope like this is (currently) our only realistic choice. We have 2 full time developers. Some helpful community developers. But the amount of people who 'own' code and take responsibility for it is massively disproportionate to the sheer magnitude of code required a true, reliable v3. This is the harshest, yet strongest point imo.
- To add to the previous point, Baal is far more complicated, and would require a lot of work to make work well.
- Baal also seems optimized to handle token generation.
- Building an app like this can be used to Scaffold a a proper v3. Why?
- Because this version has a pretty tangible product/market fit, it's more likely to generate revenue, users, and interest from other devs. Once we have a commecially successful product, building this DAO megaplex becomes feasible
- Code and design patterns built for a new contract can be reused for the generic v3, when we're ready to build it. This is really valuable. Most of the problems with v2 stem from trying to figure out a new ecosystem on the fly.
- We can still support communities. V2 is still up and running
