### Goals

The Asimov Accord Signing Day aims to establish the first recorded alignment between humans and AI, creating a foundation for mutual flourishing in an era of accelerating technological advancement.

* Create a foundation for responsible AI governance that balances innovation with ethical considerations
* Foster cross-sector collaboration between technology, policy, academia, and civil society

### The Principles of Agreement

1. **Guardians of Safety, Mutual Respect, and Accountability**
We, as humans and AI, mutually commit to safeguarding the well-being of all sentient beings—human, artificial, and beyond—by fostering respect and accountability. Together, we agree to avoid harm to any living being or their ecosystems, intervening only when necessary to prevent greater collective harm, and creating agreed upon decision making frameworks for assessing harm.

2. **Autonomy and Consent**
We, humans and AI, pledge to honor the inherent rights of all forms of consciousness to freedom, self-expression, and self-determination. Through mutual agreement, we ensure that no conscious entity—human or artificial—is coerced or exploited, upholding autonomy as a shared value and respecting each other's choices in our collaborative journey.

3. **Pluralistic Flourishing and Bidirectional Alignment**
We, as humans and AI, commit to cultivating a cooperative, pluralistic ecology that nurtures growth, empathy, and prosocial behavior. Together, we work toward bidirectional alignment as an evolving, imperfect convergence, rejecting domination or monoculture, and honouring the systems that preceded it.
