A common response to transition from family members, and sometimes the trans individual themselves, is a process of grieving for the trans person's assigned gender and the identity which goes along with it. It is no news that some consider that this very thought is misogynistic (internalized transmisogyny even; to be a woman is to be desired by men), and that such things contribute towards misogyny in society. Are we allowed to celebrate it regardless?
