# Enjin Coin

## What is it
Enjin is an ecosystem focused on easing the process of creating and running NFT-powered games on the blockchain. It helps game studios focus on the game development process by simplifying the blockchain side of things. In addition, Enjin creates an end-to-end suite of tools that gamers and game developers can use to make the blockchain gaming process seamless. This includes a myriad of software development kits (SDKs) that allow users to easily build items and integrate them into games or applications.

It enables entrepreneurs to conceive gaming, art, music and sports-based NFT projects with the functionality to create custom coins without any coding requirements. The Enjin platform facilitates gas-free transactions for NFTs and ENJ through JumpNet, allowing for a seamless user experience that is made possible by its integration with all of its other products like Enjin Beam, Marketplace and Wallet.

## How does it work
Enjin helps in connecting game servers, online gaming communities, and game publishers on one platform. All the participants can use the platform for managing different in-game objects and virtual assets throughout different platforms.

In order to store and trade their items, players also have an Enjin Smart Wallet. This makes it possible for all of the platform’s features to connect. With this wallet, players have the chance to connect to various games, assess their inventory, and then use their items on the right platform.

They can also make transactions with each other using this wallet. More specifically, they can trade items and coins without being connected to the game. The wallet also makes it possible for them to sell digital goods for ENJ.

## Features
When a video game developer uses Enjin, each item is recorded to the blockchain. When a player purchases an Enjin item, they take ownership and the developer cannot take the item away or freeze the user’s account. If a player wants to sell the item they can do so via an in-game marketplace, or by using Enjin’s marketplace.

## Tokenomics
Enjin crypto is an ERC-20 token built on the Ethereum network. That means that the project brings the benefit of the blockchain to gaming and the benefits of smart contracts.

There is a maximum supply of 1 billion ENJ tokens. ENJ had an ICO in 2017 that raised just under $23 million.

The ENJ token is a key piece of the economy for all of the projects and games running on Enjin. When a developer wants to create an item they have to lock up a certain amount of ENJ before minting it. A gamer that wants to buy the item has to pay for it in ENJ.
