# TRON Explained

**For Usage in Team JUST Projects**

## Leveraging the TRON Network

Instead of Ethereum, this upcoming project is going to be an exploration of the [TRON network](https://tron.network/index). A network that, to many developers, has really started to surprise everyone with the speed and consistency of updates and community building.

The most interesting aspect is simply the consistency and speed of TRX's network. The blocks occur every 3 seconds (compare this to 15 seconds on ETH) which is already a massive speed upgrade to anyone looking to program or play with something reactive.

Team Just is testing some familiar, and many new concepts, mechanics, and systems that weren't combining on Ethereum in the way we had intended. Plus using all the bits and pieces they've learned to make everything more accessible, understandable, and readily playable across as wide of an audience as possible.

## How does TRON compare to Ethereum?

**TRON is a lot like Ethereum, but meant to be faster and cheaper.**

As a user, the main differences are:

* Using [TRONLink](https://www.tronlink.org/) instead of Metamask for interacting with Dapps
* Actions taken on Dapps should be faster to complete
* Using [TronScan](https://www.tronscan.org/) instead of Etherscan

_Just slightly more technical:_

TRON is a blockchain platform that works very much like Ethereum. There is a TRX token (like ETH) and a smart contract platform for running decentralized applications. Main different is that there are architectural changes designed to improve the cost, consistency and speed of TRX's network. The blocks occur every 3 seconds (compare this to 15 seconds on ETH) which is already a massive speed upgrade to anyone looking to program or play with something reactive. Tron also adopted support for standard programming languages (including Solidity support) instead of Ethereum’s languages which are all specialized/proprietary.

## But what about Ethereum???

Team JUST is developing many projects on the Ethereum network and will continue to do so. The launch of a project exploring the Tron network is **not an indication that they are moving away from Ethereum**.

## Okay, how do I get ready for the upcoming TRON project?

First, you'll want to read a bit more about [TRON](https://coinswitch.co/info/tron/what-is-tron) and [checkout their site](https://tron.network/index).

Second, you'll likely want to [pick up a bit of TRON on Binance](https://www.binance.com/en/trade/TRX_BTC) or [another cryptocurrency exchange](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tron/#markets).

Next, you'll want to setup a TRON wallet to hold any TRON and interact with Tron Dapps:

* Here's a guide to setting up [TronLink](https://mrscryptofreak.com/how-to-install-and-use-tronlink/). TronLink is metamask for TRON, and acts as both a wallet and a way to interact with TRON Dapps.
* Be sure to read up on [energy and bandwidth here](https://medium.com/@TronLinkWallet/about-tron-bandwidth-and-energy-19ed86b83d68) to understand how these work when using TRON to interact with Dapps or send transaactions.
* Use [TronScan](https://tronscan.org) to freeze TRX, check transactions, or explore contracts. Very similar to Etherscan for Ethereum.

## ...But how will this connect to P3D?
