# Convo Will and Piet 20200915
## An analysis of our last discussion
Let's start by understanding each other's experience last week.
We started discussing an idea of Piet's. The idea was to explore an observation about the relationship between
1. The number of gods in major world religions
2. The set of "regular" numbers as defined by someone who Piet seems to recall was Rudy Rucker
We discussed Piet's argument that the number of gods in major world religions is one of the four numbers 0,1,2, infinity.
We then discussed the relationship between this claim and the set of regular numbers.
--------
Towards the end of the discussion (an hour after the alotted time had ended), Will suggested moving on to another algorithm for generating the same numbers. Will agreed that there might be a plausible argument for 0,1,2,infinity being the "god numbers," but he did not agree with Piet's explanation as to why the algorithm for the regular numbers was plausibly related to the argument about "god numbers."
Piet felt frustrated that Will seemed to insist on moving onto another idea before Piet could be sure that Will understood what Piet meant. While Piet was happy to consider other ideas, he worried that Will's consideration of his idea was too superficial.
---------
Towards the end of the discussion (an hour after the alotted time had ended), we really had to wind up, and Will suggested to continue next week with a different tack, namely finding one or more other algorithms that also happened to produce the same list of four numbers, with the intent to compare the plausibility for Piet's argument for the plausibility of his algorithm with the plausib. While Piet agreed that it was a good idea, he objected that we had not yet reached closure on the question
