# COSCUP X KCD Taiwan 2022 講者參與指引 <Br>COSCUP X KCD Taiwan 2022 Guidelines for Speakers and Facilitators
本年度大會將實體舉辦。根據我們的經驗講者實體演說可以達到最佳效果,但講者若因各種因素無法到場,我們也視各軌狀況開放遠端參與。
今年講者的分享議程方式可分為二種:
線下實體(至 COSCUP 會場現場分享)
線上參與
預錄影片:提前遞交議程影片。
直播:於議程時間以直播方式進行分享。
若您希望使用「線上參與」而非「線下實體」,請您於 July 16 前告知,並於 July 23 前提交預錄影片。
為確保議程品質,所有遠距講者都建議您提交預錄影片。若在 July 23 未提交預錄影片,【主議程軌、Open AI、開放教育、開放設計、日本軌、中國軌、其他開源議程、Open World Tour、開源與職涯】會預設您是使用【直播】進行發表。
本份文件將提供基本說明,供所有講者參考。
The conference will be held in person this year. According to our experience, speeches are best delivered in face-to-face communication, but if speakers are not able to present live due to various factors, they can also present remotely depending on the situation of each track.
However, you can present your presentation either in person at the [COSCUP venue](https://goo.gl/maps/tetTX37fmjcNLtx76) or virtually with pre-recorded video (pre-recorded video provided by presenter before the conference)
live (live broadcasting in your track session)
Please inform us before July 16th if you can not present in person and provide us with a pre-recorded video by **July 23rd**.
To ensure the presentation quality, we recommend all virtual speakers provide us with the pre-recorded video. We would assume speakers in the following tracks 【Main、Open AI、Open Education、Open Design、Japanese、Chinese、Misc、Open World Tour、Open Source & Career】will present live in the conference if the video is not submitted by **July 23rd**.
Below is the basic guideline for all Speakers and Facilitators this year in the COSCUP.
## Scope

* Below are the tracks that open virtual participation: Main Track, AI, Open Education, Open Design, Japanese Track, Chinese Track, Misc Open Source, Open World Tour, and Open Source & Career.
## 線下參與重要事項/ Joining in person
您的實體演講所投影的螢幕比例是依照不同的演講廳決定,請參考下表:

## 剩餘時間提醒
當您的演講時間剩餘 10 分鐘、3 分鐘時會由主持人舉牌向講者提醒,若議程發生嚴重超時,為守時及不耽誤下一場講者的時間,主持人可能會強制結束您的議程 (也不會進行 QA,會請講者會後在議程廳外進行討論)。
## Timing Card Reminder
To indicate the counting down of time for each speaker when they are on stage.The host of the session will raise time cards when your speech remaining time is 10 minutes and 3 minutes. If the speech runs over the time limit, in order to avoid the time delay for the next session. The host may stop your session at the end of the session without QA. We will ask the speaker to have the discussion outside the conference hall.
## 轉接頭與投影片
請您注意,議程組建議使用議程廳內的資訊講桌 (配有網路) 進行簡報,建議您可以將投影片上傳至 https://speakerdeck.com/ 、 Google Drive 、 HackMD 等平台,並於當天登入資訊講桌後使用講桌進行演講。
經場勘測試後,並非所有電腦都可以正常投放投影機,若您需要自行投影,請您自備適合您電腦的轉接頭,線下的轉接頭為 HDMI、VGA 混用,且我們不保證轉接訊號將會正常輸出,建議您提早將投影片上傳。
(我們不保管任何投影片資訊,您可以攜帶 USB 或上傳到雲端硬碟方便存取文件)
## Adapter and Slides
**Please note** the program team suggests using the information desk in the conference room (equipped with internet service) for presentation. We recommend you upload your video in the platforms, such as https://speakerdeck.com/ ,Google Drive, HackMD and sign in at the information desk at the scheduled session and then use the desk for your presentation.
After our test survey, Not all laptops are compatible with the projectors in the room. If you need to use projectors. please prepare the suitable adapter for your laptops. The adapters are varied, there are HDMI and VGA combinations. We can not guarantee the transferred signals will be output successfully. so we advise you to upload the presentation slides in advance.
(We would not keep any slide information here, please bring your own USB or upload your slide to your own cloud space for better access.)
## 講者到現場提前準備的時間
我們建議您早於 2 場議程於休息空檔至資訊講桌測試或存取您的簡報,並於前一場議程開始時進入議程房間進行準備。
## Speak in person
We recommend you come to the information desk in your assigned conference room during the break at least 2 sessions prior to the scheduled time to test your presentation slide and enter the conference room a session prior to your session before the scheduled time..
## 線上講者參與方式/ Joining online
本次線上講者參與方式為預錄 + live QA。但若您因各種因素無法進行預錄,則開放全 live 方式參與,唯根據我們經驗全 live 可能遭遇各種無法預期之狀況,主辦方無法對您的演說效果負責。
Google Meet 連結會提前告知給所有遠端講者,請於收到 Email 後回覆。
請您於前 2 場議程就提前至 Google Meet 上線,並於一開始關閉收音及攝影機,請於早一日進行測試設備正常與否。

## Joining Online
We are asking all virtual speakers this year to pre-record a video of their presentation. Each session will be held in the format of: pre-recorded video + live Q&A. However, if you can not pre-record the video then you can do it live. Please note that the unexpected incidents occur often in the live streaming, it is good to have a backup.
The Google Meet invitation will be sent to all virtual speakers prior to the conference, please reply to us after receiving the email invitation.
Please enter the Google Meet room 2 sessions ahead of your scheduled session with your microphone and camera off.
## 不預錄影片進行演說的方式 (直播)
我們十分不推薦您使用此方式進行演講,此方法造成網路斷訊打斷演講的機率很高,我們不會為您演講被打斷導致議程時間縮短而負責,建議您提交預錄影片。
您會透過 Google Meet (與 QA 相同的連結) 進入議程廳進行演講,議程廳主持人會將您的投影片投射於現場。
## Without pre-recorded video (live streaming)
**We strongly not recommend you do your presentation live.** As the internet disconnections may cause interruptions of the presentation, we are not able to be responsible for the shortage of speech time. That’s why we recommend every speaker provide us with a pre-recorded video.
You will enter the conference room via Google Meet (same for QA session) at the scheduled session. The host will broadcast your slide in the assigned conference room.
## 線上講者預錄影片提交辦法 / Specifications
若講者需要透過遠端方式參與,請務必詳讀本區域說明:

## 線上講者預錄影片提交格式 / Specifications
遠端演講將會呈現在實體會議廳的螢幕上,流程可能會包含演講、QA 等。 其中需要注意演講廳的螢幕將有不同的比例:
## Specifications
Virtual speech will be broadcast in the assigned conference room, including the speech and the QA session. Please note that the aspect ratio of the display panel may vary in different rooms. See below for specifications.:

除了您所在的議程廳需要套用特定比例的影片外,您有以下的規格參考:
* mp4 格式的影片
* 720p or better
Besides the aspect ratio of the display panel in the different conference rooms, we recommend your video is in mp4 format and the resolution is 720p or better.
若提交的比例錯誤,通常螢幕都會貼齊寬度做等比例縮放,或少影響投影片的解析度,並不至於讓投影機無法播放,而我們建議您可以依照不同比例來設計,有助於提高內容呈現的品質。
錄影方式可參考附錄 3、附錄 4、附錄 5 的說明
If the aspect ratio of the provided video is different than that of the display panel, the video will be scaled proportional to fit the screen. The video is still playable, but the resolution may be affected. We suggest you use the aspect ratio listed above in the presentation slides for the best performance.
For recording details, please see Appendix 3-5 below.
>我們推薦使用 OBS 等工具進行預錄,並押入講者您本人的 webcam 畫面,以增進演說效果。
We recommend to record your video with OBS or other recording tools and you can embed webcam content overlaid on the presentation for better speech performance.
針對使用非中文、英文語言進行演講的講者,我們建議他們以提交預錄影片的方式,外加自行加入英文字幕來呈現演講,可以助於國際化及提高國際觸曝光度,同時令我們的會眾也能更清楚議程的內容。
When the presentation is not Chinese nor English, we would recommend speakers provide the pre-recorded video with English captions, which would help to internationalization of COSCUP and increase our international exposure. Meanwhile, the video will help attendees to better understand the content of speeches.
用 Aegisub 軟體為自己的影片加上字幕。
We also recommend to use Aegisub to add subtitles to your video.
## 線上講者 Live QA 方式
我們使用 Google Meet。講者請在您的議程開始前就進入您的 google meet room,以和主持人確認連線狀況、確認是否要在預錄影片播放前與聽眾打招呼等。
## Live QA
We will use Google Meet for live streaming. Please enter the google meeting room before your session starts and check if the connection with the session host is successfully established as well as other details, such as if the speaker wishes to welcome attendees before playing the video.

# 附錄 Appendix
## 附錄1:各社群職責說明 / Appendix 1:Responsibilities
所有影片的播送將由各議程軌及各社群負責,COSCUP 不承擔因網路斷線而無法進行議程的責任,COSCUP 主辦方不強制社群必須要提交影片,所以須由各社群自行決定是否要求講者提交,並且 COSCUP 不負責影片保管責任。
各軌負責人若您的軌開放遠距參與,可提供本份文件給您的講者,幫助其順利進行線上演說。**(注意:本文件僅供參考,各軌可自行規範是否開放線上參與,以及執行方式,並全權負責。)**
Each track and community are responsible for all their own video broadcasting and live events. The COSCUP is not responsible for not being able to continue the agenda due to unstable network connectivity. The pre-recorded video submission is not mandatory depending on the decision of each track. COSCUP is also not responsible for video recorded or stored for conference broadcasting.
For those tracks that open up virtual participation, please provide this guidance to your speaker to assist their virtual speeches. **Please note this is only for your information. Each track is responsible for their own track agenda and they can decide on their own the way to conduct the track.**
## 附錄2:QA 軟體 / Appendix 2: Q&A Tool
遠端 live QA 由於互動不如實體容易,可考慮透過 QA 軟體讓您與聽眾互動更容易。COSCUP 2021 使用 Slido 進行 Q&A。今年講者可考慮自行建立 slido link,並且在現場的 Q&A 環節使用簡報模式呈現給會眾。
Running a virtual live QA is not as easy as in-person. We recommend using QA tools to assist the QA session. In COSCUP 2021, we used **[Slido](https://www.slido.com/)** for a QA session and it works well. We suggest speakers could create Slido links on their own and present to the attendees in the QA session.
## 附錄 3:拍攝建議/ Appendix 3:Shooting suggestions Shooting suggestions
(講者影片是否入鏡由講者自行決定,我們不強制講者要打開鏡頭進行演說)
(Speakers can decide whether they want to leave the camera on or off, it is not mandatory to keep the camera on.)
1. 盡量讓電腦以及受訪者成平視的,這樣比較有親近感。
攝影機、視訊鏡頭的角度請不要低於臉,會容易看起來很胖。
1.Try to keep the computer and the interviewee at eye level to give a more intimate feel
Please do not set the camera or video lens at a lower angle than your face, as this will make you look fat.
2. 如無相機或腳架,請用身邊的東西架高自己的手機/相機,高度到有辦法拍攝如下圖的角度。
2.If you do not have a camera or tripod, please use something around you to raise your phone/camera to a height that allows you to take the picture at the angle shown below.

3. 如果無可用器材,請架好視訊鏡頭,並使用自己手機錄音(不入鏡),之後再將完整錄音檔剪輯,視情況加到影片裡。
3.If you don't have the equipment available, set up a video camera and use your own phone to record (without the camera), then edit the full recording and add it to the video as appropriate.
## 附錄 4:錄影的方式/Appendix 4:The Way of Recording
讓您的網路攝影機與簡報同時一起錄製,以下是幾種錄影的解決方案:
1. (Win/OSX/Linux) 使用 OBS 軟體進行錄製,可以同時錄製幕畫面以及 WebCam

## 附錄 5:影片錄製軟體/Appendix 5:Recording Softwares
* Win/OSX/Linux:
* 使用 OBS 軟體進行錄製。

* 使用 Loom 這套軟體來進行錄製。
* 若您選擇 Loom 為此次錄影的工具。那麼將建議您下載他們的桌機版本軟體。這是因為,只有他們的桌機版本才可以為解析度進行調控。
* 但需額外注意,這套工具只有在 Business Plan 以上,才能錄製 5 分鐘以上的影片,且將解析度調高。而這部分在剛註冊時,他們就會提供一個禮拜的 Business Plan 服務。
* 好處是一錄製完成後,就會將影片上傳至雲端。後續影片只要在自己的雲端目錄中下載即可。
* OSX: 使用 QuickTime Player 進行錄製。

* 或試著進行下列操作
* 開啟 QuickTime Player 後「File」選擇「New Movie Recording」選項來將個人影像大小調製適當位置(不進行錄製)。
* 並額外在「File」中,接續選擇「New Screen Recording」來錄製整個桌面畫面。就能達到同時錄製影片且出現個人影像(WebCam)的需求。

* If you choose Loom as your recording tool, we will advise you to download its desktop version, because you can only choose to record in various resolutions in the desktop app.
* Please note the unlimited recording video length and high resolution quality are only offered in Business or Enterprise Plan. You can sign up a 14- day trial loom business plan to try it out. Both plans also have uploading features. All videos you have recorded can be uploaded to your own cloud space (personal loom library), and downloaded from the cloud subsequently.

* After opening QuickTime Player, from 「File」 dropdown menu choose「New Movie Recording」to move your personal image to proper size and position (not recording yet)
* and then choose「New Screen Recording」from 「File」 dropdown menu to record the whole screen. That is the way to record the video with the embedded personal WebCam image.
