# COSCUP 2025 Visa Invitation Guidelines

## ❗ Important Notices

1. **For 2025, COSCUP only provides invitation letters. We do not assist with visa applications.**
2. **We do not process any visa-related support for applicants from the People's Republic of China (PRC).**

This form is intended to help us determine whether you require an invitation letter for your visa application. It is **only for speakers** who are **unable to enter Taiwan via visa exemption or tourist visa**.
Please read the information below carefully and select the appropriate visa application method.

## ✅ Requirements to Request an Invitation Letter

- You must have at least one **accepted talk** and have **confirmed your attendance** in the pretalx system.
- You are **not eligible** to enter Taiwan via **tourist visa** or **visa exemption**.
- COSCUP only accepts requests for invitation letters that are **required for visa applications**.

We **do not issue** invitation letters for purposes such as **company documentation**, **award certification**, or other **non-visa-related requests**.
Requests that do not meet this requirement will be **declined**.

## 🛂 Which Type of Visa Should I Apply For?

### General Visa | Invitation Letter + Visa Application
If you're **not eligible** for visa exemption, you should apply for a **General Visa** at your nearest Taiwanese diplomatic office using the invitation letter we provide.

### eVISA
**⚠ COSCUP does NOT provide eVISA ECODEs. Do not select this option.**

Although some countries may qualify for eVISA, it often requires an ECODE issued by the conference host. COSCUP does not support ECODE applications.

## 🌍 Country-specific Visa Notes

### You MUST apply for a General Visa if you're from:
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, India, Iraq, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, or others **not listed** in BOCA’s eVISA page.

> - Nepal and India applicants must apply via the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India.
> - Nigeria and Ghana applicants must apply via the representative office in Nigeria.

You do **not** need to complete this form if you hold a passport from the following countries:

Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Eswatini*, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan*, Korea (ROK), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Marshall Islands*, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia*, Norway, Palau, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tuvalu*, UK, USA*, Vatican, Belize*, Malaysia, Nauru, St. Kitts and Nevis*, St. Lucia*, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Singapore, Nicaragua, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Brunei, Philippines

> \* Passport holders with "Place of Birth" listed as Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, PRC, Syria, or Yemen are **not eligible** for visa exemption.
> Honduran passports listing PRC as place of birth are also **not eligible**.

## 📝 How to Fill the Visa Application

Once you receive your invitation letter:

1. Go to: [https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/BOCA_EVISA/](https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/BOCA_EVISA/)
2. Select **Option 1: General Visa Applications**
3. In the form:
- Set “Purpose of Travel” to: `Attending Conference / Exhibition`
- Fill in required fields using the information on your invitation letter
