The CodeRefinery Steering Group provides high-level strategy and makes
big-picture decisions for the project
(https://github.com/coderefinery/governance-charter/). The Steering Group meets
four times per year, typically online. Each funding partner has the right to
appoint a member of the Steering Group. And this is your chance to be part of it!
We have introduced this very recently and would like to try it out.
An ideal candidate can put themselves in the perspective of the community and
provide a balance to the perspective of organizations and funding partners.
This does not mean that the candidate needs to work outside an existing
CodeRefinery partner organization or outside of Nordics. It can also be a
project team member. The candidate should be able to put on "a
different hat" one hour every few months to represent the interest of the learners, helpers, ambassadors, and other stakeholders.
This can be a good learning experience about how cross-border projects can be
managed and steered. In addition, you get to influence decisions and can really
help the project and the community by bringing in a broader and more diverse
view into the strategic planning and decision making. It can be a great way to
network and connect to people who are typically close to shaping organizational
strategies and policies in a cross-border project with high impact.
