February 17, 15 CET
Info needed by organizer (Alessandra) before end of December:
* Title of the talk
* Abstract
* An image relating to the work
* A short biography of yourself
* A photo of yourself
* If you wish, your twitter handle, your organisation/project or other relevant social media hashtags.
**Topic request:** CodeRefinery & research software engineering (short version of summer school talk https://samumantha.github.io/research-software-engineering/)
**Setup:** The webinars are 1 hour long and include a 2-3 min short intro, 40-45min presentation and 10-15min Q&A session with the attendees. We use the software zoom. You will get a webinar link via email. Around one week before the webinar I will contact you to test the webinar.
**Aim of webinar:** The aim of webinar series<https://bioexcel.eu/category/webinar/><https://bioexcel.eu/category/webinar/> is to feature notable developments in the field of computational biomolecular research - success stories, new software releases, novel methods, new database, and everything that we believe will be of interest to the community. The series has proven to be quite popular, some of them have thousands of views on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/@BioExcelCoE).
**Some info on BioBBs**
BioBBs and workflows related to those might be ideal as demo cases. BioBBs (bio building blocks) are Python wrappers of common software and utility tools. More info here: https://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/
- They support different workflow managers. At the moment Snakemake/Nextflow are not supported (see here for options: https://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/about/workflow-managers), but they might be added in future. If we want to mention Snakemake, I can find out more, so we know what exactly the plan/timeline is.
- They have existing demo workflows (see here: https://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/workflows) but seeing that we are currently developing a Jupyter notebook with our own, we could likely also use that (it's my team's code and would either be new or not yet added, so it might give nice development vibes and gives me freedom to adjust the demo case for run-time and info)
**Demo cases/ideas**
- Running a docking study in a reproducible fashion
- Analyzing an MD trajectory
