# CodePath + Pluralsight: FAQ

This document answers Frequently Asked Questions for CodePath.org students and student leaders who have received a free [Pluralsight](https://www.pluralsight.com) license as part of their participation in a CodePath.org program.

#### How can I get a Pluralsight license?
All active CodePath students and paid student leaders are eligible to receive a [Pluralsight](https://www.pluralsight.com) license.

However, available licenses are limited. So CodePath reevaluates license distribution annually to ensure that CodePath student leaders, and as many active CodePath students as possible, have access to the Pluralsight platform.

If you are selected to receive a license, you will receive an invitation email from CodePath.org with instructions on how to activate your license. At this time, there are not enough licenses available for every admitted CodePath student.

#### How long will my Pluralsight license last?
Access to pluralsight.com will *generally* last from the time an invitation is accepted until at least the start of the following academic year. However, students and student leaders who continue to participate in CodePath programs may be able to keep their license active for longer; subject to license availability.

That said, all access to the Pluralsight platform is subject to continued product grant support from [Pluralsight One](https://www.pluralsightone.org/) for the benefit of [CodePath.org](https://www.codepath.org/about).

#### Can I share my Pluralsight login credentials with others?
**No**. Credential sharing is by the terms of CodePath's master service agreement with Pluralsight. Every individual must invited to activate their own Pluralsight subscription. Sharing credentials with another person will result in revocation of one's Pluralsight license.

#### Can I access Pluralsight content from multiple devices?
**Yes**. As long as your license is active, you may use your individual credentials to access the Pluralsight platform from any number of devices simultaneously (computers, mobile phones, tablets, etc).

#### How can I get help with my Pluralsight account?
Email [[e-mail]](mailto:[e-mail]) from the email account associated with your CodePath.org program participation. If we cannot assist you, we will escalate the issue to our designated support team at Pluralsight. Please do not contact Pluralsight directly.

#### Am I required to complete Pluralsight content as a CodePath.org student?
**No**. Pluralsight licenses are made available as an [OPTIONAL BENEFIT](https://hackmd.io/@codepathorg/pluralsight#An-Optional-Benefit-for-CodePath-Student-Leaders-amp-Students) for CodePath students and student leaders.

Covering thousands of topics, Pluralsight content can be used to deepen your understanding of CodePath-aligned topics, learn about topics that are beyond the scope of CodePath's programs, and help you launch your career by acquiring in-demand technology skills. But we recognize that CodePath students already have a lot on their plate, so taking advantage of the Pluralsight platform is strictly optional, and will never have any impact on your participation in a CodePath program.

#### What should I do if I never use my Pluralsight license after receiving it?
Because we have a limited set of licenses, please consider letting CodePath know if you have accepted a license but are no longer using it, and would be willing to give up your license so that it can be made available to someone else! Just email [[e-mail]](mailto:[e-mail]).

#### Where should I ask technical questions about Pluralsight content?
If you have *technical questions about concepts being taught in a Pluralsight course*, refer to [this video](https://hackmd.io/@codepathorg/pluralsight) for information on how to leverage Pluralsight's per-course discussion forums to interact with the author of that content and other Pluralsight learners. Please do not email the CodePath support team, as they are unable to answer questions about Pluralsight's technical content.

#### Where can I discuss Pluralsight content with other CodePath.org program members?
CodePath program participants who are given access to the Pluralsight platform are also added to a designated CodePath community Slack channel, which you can learn more about [here](https://hackmd.io/@codepathorg/pluralsight#The-CodePath-Pluralsight-Learning-Community).

If you received a Pluralsight license but were not added to a corresponding Slack channel, that was an oversight. Just email [[e-mail]]([e-mail]) and we will get you added.

#### How does the Pluralsight platform work?
The [Pluralsight platform](https://www.pluralsight.com) has thousands of courses and other types of content for gaining expertise on a wide variety of topics, spanning programming languages, software development best practices, IT operations and devops, data science, cybersecurity and many other topics.

#### Which Pluralsight content is relevant to CodePath.org programs?
CodePath has curated a specific set of Pluralsight content "channels" within pluralsight.com that are generally aligned to CodePath programs. Refer to [this section of the getting started guide](https://hackmd.io/@codepathorg/pluralsight#CodePath-%E2%80%9CCompany-Channels%E2%80%9D-in-pluralsightcom) to learn more, and for direct links to those channels.

#### Can I only access Pluralsight content that's specific to a CodePath.org program?
**No**. Licenses received by CodePath program participants grant *unlimited access to the entire Pluralsight skill development platform*, which includes:

- Hundreds of curated [Learning Paths](https://app.pluralsight.com/paths?tab=all) for assessing and building **skills**, preparing for **industry certifications**, or watching select **conference recordings**.
- Adaptive [Skill IQ Assessments](https://app.pluralsight.com/skilliq), which measure skill competencies and recommend Pluralsight content that can be used to close identified skill gaps.
- A [Certification Prep Center](https://app.pluralsight.com/explore/certifications) that facilitates preparing for in-demand industry certifications spanning Software Development, IT Ops, Cloud, Security, Data Science and other topics.
- A growing list of [Interactive Paths](https://app.pluralsight.com/search/?type=lab&m_sort=newest) that provide a hands-on learning experience within a sandboxed environment.
