# Priya Pahal Bi-weekly Check in (1st Round)
## Lab/Tools/Resources Feedback
- What do you think about the training? (I.e. slow, fast, just right, hard, easy)
- thinks the pace is really good just has not taken full advantage of it and dove deep into it
- likes that we recommend further steps that can be done
- Do you follow along with us doing the live coding
- just passively watches, she might try to follow along next time,\
- mainly bc she has been moving around and with family
- She also says its hard to follow along bc everyone goes at their own pace - can't pause or fast forward so its hard to accomodate for the types of students who want to get through it and just finish quick - it might be hard for slower learners bc they might want to ask a lot of questions and feel like they can't bc it might slow class down too much or maybe they're kinda introverted bc a lot of CS majors are kinda like that
- Likes the ideas of using Pods
- people often dont contribute to a conversation bc they are not confident or are completely lost and don't know what's going on
- split people into small groups where they discuss a portion of the assignment and dive deep into it
- grab people and put them in a new group - and now they can be more confident in talking about a specific thing
- when there is a social aspect there's more of a drive to get involved and do more
- What do you think about having separate trainings one for those who never took the iOS course before and one for those who already took the iOS course?
- feels like it would help, but people aren't really gonna utilize it - there might still be a lot of confounds - finding a good time to do it would be hard
- time zones are also an issue - so if someone needed to come to the slower pace then it would not accommodate for them
- students probably will probably not follow along still
~~- What do you think of changing our 7am lab to 8am?~~
- How can we improve the labs
- Has not really done any of the yelp labs - wants to do it but just doesn't
- when she took the course she mainly did assignments - didn't do it because they weren't mandatory and had other things during school like other classes
- can't give students too much to do because they get overwhelmed from it
- one assignment that is a little more complicated would benefit students more than multiple assignments
- Maybe we could go into the optionals
- How can we improve the assignments
- would want to learn more about what everything did - more in depth on the slides and content rather than the live coding
- more fundamentals through slides - more in depth explanation - better than following code that student does not understand
- important to learn how to get students to pay attention and be engaged and interacting
- Have you checked out our portals (i.e. task tracker setting up organizer dashboard, course portal, discusssion space, notion space). Any Feedback?
- It's not too crazy - gets confused regarding what week is what, would be nicer if we described the week in the home page
- how helpful is the Notion?
- feels like it is useful to have every link in one place
## How Familiar are you with CodePath
- Who do you know from CodePath?
- Alejandro (TF from last year at UCSD)
## Get to know each other
- Knows about codepath from alejandro - bioinformatics major
- why try to be TF?
- likes app design, thinks swift coding is fun - loves how time goes by debugging
- wants to help debug - wants to learn more about Swift
