# Booking Classrooms
This tutorial is to help you as a Tech Fellow learn about the process of booking rooms for your future non-credit course.
I will make this as simple as possible in **two steps** for booking classrooms.
- [Step 0: Figure out the Process of Booking Rooms at your University](#Step-0-Figure-out-the-Process-of-Booking-Rooms-at-your-University-)
- [Step 1: Register a Campus Organization](#Step-1-Register-a-Campus-Organization-)
<!-- - [Step 1: Student Center](#Step-1-Learn-about-your-Student-Center-SC-) -->
## Step 0: Figure out the Process of Booking Rooms at your University! :label:
In some universities, booking rooms is an easy process. For some you just need to log in, fill out a form, and your are ready to go! :green_apple:
However, in some universities (i.e. UC Irvine) you need to establish an on-campus organization, and then fill out the form, but this process can take about 2 - 3 weeks total.
Below is the example for [UC Irvine's website](https://www.studentcenter.uci.edu/book-an-event/registered-campus-organizations/) for reserving classrooms:

^ Each university has a different process for reserving an on-campus organization. For UC Irvine, we have to create an campus organization FIRST then fill out a form with the details of the room.
### Tech Fellow Task! :scooter:
:::warning
TASK: Start your search on Google with '`UniversityName book rooms`' and learn about the process for booking rooms with at your organization. Once you have finished booking rooms make sure to update your [Tech Fellow Organizer Dashboard](http://organize.codepath.com). Great work! :clap: :clap:
:::
==NOTE:== If there are **any costs incurred** in the process, make sure to contact your Tech Guru and Operations Lead (Karen) to help you get a reimbursement for the room reservations.
In some cases, universities require student campus organizations to book classrooms. If that's the case, follow step 1.
<!-- ## Step 1: Learn about your Student Center (SC) :mag_right:
All Universities have a *Student Center (SC)*, on campus. There are other names that they go by such as Student Services, Student Affairs, etc. All Student Services centers are mainly in charge of helping students get access to resources such as booking rooms. However, this type of resource is usually accessible for students who are in a campus organization. So... lets create an campus org!
The main task here is to ***learn** about the resources that your university offers* (particularly to campus organizations), mainly through a Google search, or by visiting your student services on-campus.
Here is an example of [UC Irvine's Student Services](https://www.admissions.uci.edu/discover/student-life/services.php) Website when I Google-searched "UCI Student Services":

^ Immediately we notice they have a section for 'Campus Organizations' (highlighed in blue) Perfect! We found the bag :moneybag: :moneybag:
### Tech Fellow Task! :scooter:
Before moving on to the next step. Lets get a head start and do some research of your university's student center resources for campus organizations.

TASK: Research about your universities resources that they provide for students and campus organizations through a Google search or other students that are involved in campus organizations.

## Step 1: Register a Campus Organization :hammer:
By now you should have done some research about your universities resources they provide to students and campus organizations. Now lets figure out how to create an campus organization.
Luckily for us, the website that we were on in Step 1 took us to this site, where students are taken to a website where they are able to register a campus organization.

^ Each university has a different process for registering an on-campus organization. This is where you as a Tech Fellow will use your brain :brain: and figure out the steps needed to do so since you know your university best than us!
### Tech Fellow Task! :scooter:
Before moving on to the next step. Lets start registering CodePath as an campus organization. If you have some trouble figuring out what are mission is and info about the parent organization is, make sure to find that info at codepath.org/about.
:::warning
TASK: Go through the process of creating a campus organization at your university. This step will take a few days (maybe weeks). Once finished go back to **step 0!** Make sure to contact your Tech Gurus for advice!
