# Second Round Questions ## - [Mingjia Wang]Bi-weekly Check in (2nd Round) ## Lab/Tools/Resources Feedback - How do you feel about teaching the Yelpy lab content? Note: I think it will go well especially with having one lab to work on all qtr (**Present the current order**) TableViews + APIs, Passing Data + Collection Views, AutoLayout, Animations, Parse Server, MapKit - Why or why not would you re-structure the order of topics? If so, what order would it be? Note : it would be nice to go over certain topics earlier like auto layout and Table views - How well are concepts reinforced in Yelpy labs (live session + written walkthrough)? Note: some of the learning was done through the labs, some of the lessons are not super useful - apis need to be reinforced more on how to make a request and the same with a server or parse. we go through a lot of copying but not necessarily learning, focus more on concepts and why and what does the code do. list out steps and why you do the steps - If you have done the labs from before, how do they compare to the current Yelpy labs? Note, they seem good - Have you been interested in doing the lab bonuses? Why/Not? Note: as a student he did not because of time but as a TA he did and he really liked them. it would be good to include the bonus as a documentation or video for those who want to do them. - How do you plan to carry out your sessions (online, zoom, remotely)? Guru: How many times per week, office hours, slack channel or work space for TFs + students, setting up zoom/skype/hangouts and sending calendar invites. Give advice Note: maybe hybrid or fully remote live sessions - they are starting in the winter and spring (If multiple Tech Fellows) - Have you met up with the other TFs to plan out your session runs? Guru: Give advice about team work, splitting up work, starting an on-campus org/club... Note: (Single Tech Fellows) - Have you contacted some connections that might be interested in helping you run CodePath? Guru: Contacting a professor to help you host for-credit, posting on facebook to find an unofficial TF to help with logistics (i.e. attendance, marketing, send email recaps, etc.), contact a tech company to host a panel or info session Note: ## Get to know each other - Chat with your TF ## Questions / Concerns - - the course holds your hand, for the documentation should explain why and be more in-depth - Add a lot of screenshots and gif is good to compear their projects to code paths
