Explore Snapshot, coordinate with Amin/Wed --- April 26, 2022 Hey Gagan and Jeremiah, great to get connected and welcome! As I may be new to you, happy to share some context on my background in regards to my work in DAOs/DeFi/Eng. I'm the lead and I've cc-ed Michael "Amin" who is a core contributor. To provide context, in the last 3 months we have been coming across grant applications that are off-center of the DAO grant thesis. At this point the DAO realizes that we are coordinating and responsible for initiatives that promote the development and R&D of RLY protocol as almost a defi structure - similar to how AAVE became a DAO in which that community is now responsible for building infrastructure and tooling around defi. RLY protocol contribution and new tooling is top of mind for us, in the last 3 months alone, our 20M RLY (prev at $10M USD value) has seen a 250% change (now ~$3.5M) in our treasury. So Mike and I are actively putting the infrastructure in place to coordinate treasury management for the DAO, despite the DAO's main purview is to identify projects and issue grants. Therefore, the DAO is now looking for infrastructure, developers and tooling that can extend the integration and utility of RLY's protocol across consumer defi, consumer "engage to earn" dapps, etc. 1. Do you have a plan for how many hackathons & conferences the DAO will represent at in 2022? Is there a calendar somewhere? For context, I've been in this industry for 6+ years, I've not seen RLY attend any of the circuits' events, so I'm super excited that the RLY ecosystem will be changing and being present in the ecosystem. The DAO has set aside a marketing budget for hackathons and conferences, for now Amin and I attend a select few. What would be great is to coordinate with the Association team so that we have concentrated representation. The next conference we would attend would be Breakpoint Solana in Nov, especially as our ecosystem has rolled out the RLY to SOL compatibility. For the next conferences that you'll be attending, is RLY going to be coordinating anything specific? 2. Is there a budget for how many hackathon bounties will given out in 2022, and what the dollar amounts will be? In regards to hackathons right now the budget comes from the marketing allocation, however we will allocate a budget dedicated to hackathons. Will coordinate with Jeremiah to co-contribute budgets to the hackathon. 3. Do you know roughly how many projects the DAO plans to fund in 2022? Ballpark numbers: with about 17M-20M RLY for this year's DAO treasury, we can grant +/- 40 projects at $50K avg check size or at 8 grants per month for the remaining year. 4. Is there a criteria defined to determine how much gets granted to a project? In regards to criteria, it's a case by case basis and the Reviewers are active in assessing that the financial requests are relevant for the scope of the project. https://forum.rally.io/t/rly-ecosystem-grant-programs-summaries-and-key-distinctions/1479 5. How much has been deployed to-date, and how can we learn about the projects and their status? Our DAO/Reviewers kicked-off 3-4 months ago and Dystopia Labs has been our first project funded. They have been able to bring RLY Ecosystem DAO into ETH Austin and ETH Portland with 5 qualified hackathon bounties. The next grant distribution that is likely to be considered by Reviewers will be on the consumer-facing RLY/SOL bridge. As previously stated in the intro, we are looking at infrastructure and tooling that will increase cross-chain activity between RLY and other ecosystems. There was a request by Kevin and Vajresh to find a team that is building a user-experience for the recently released RLY/SOL bridge, and Slide (I coordinated devs/security eng from Airbnb, Figma, Brex, Reddit, Amex). Next Steps: 1. Would like to coordinate with Jeremiah for marketing support. In regards to deal-flow, RLY Ecosystem DAO is nascent and would like to collaborate with the RLY Network to drive more awareness to the DAO and grants process. 2. Amin and I coordinates the process for intaking projects and coordinating Reviewer diligence, setting up the pipeline partnerships to increase relevant deal-flow Jeremiah, when is your next availability? Next Mon - Wed is most favorable for me, thank you! Will add Amin. --- April 22, 2022 - add RLY to Tally Deal Flow Pipeline: - outbound of RLY DAO at events - inbound from personal networks - 2-3 projects a week Project Profiles: 1.
