The new statement is : Healthy and sustainable building environment for everyone. It only has sustainable previously. It is the first time that ASHRAE emphaizes the term of health in its vision statement explicitly. The next step for ASHRAE is to call a forum to propose a definition of health in building and encourage all the techanical committees to correlate their work scope with the new vision statement. suggested action: keep being involved in this movement; Provide inputs&feedbacks; A proposal was made that Delos can help recommending speakers in the next forum, Oradlo, Florida. Participant from IWBI ### Humidity as a factor is getting more research interest in terms of its health impact indoors Study shows the sleep quality and stress level are improved when the relative humidity is between 30~60%, and less ideal when the room is too dry or too humid. The sleep and stress are measured through wearables (chest band) and self-report. Currently there is no comprehensive humidity solution is planed in DARWIN xxx suggested action: include humidity control in the DARWIN long-term roadmap. ROI needs to be investigated. EPA starts to develop an Indoor Air Quality Index suggested action: none. The timeline is not clear. They just start to recurit researchers. suggest implementing the current DIAQI index developed by Labs. ## Product Curation another goal of this trip is to investigate the business potentials of the "DelosSelect (TBD)" program with product manufactures. Not a lot of tangible progress after establishment. Global occupant behavior database Wide use of data and ML Open window behavior is not preditable based on current building operation data , for example, energy usage, light intensity, air quality, temperature, humidity, sound level, even occupancy. Good installation of filter and maintenance is more significant than selecting high performance filter media for improving IAQ.
