# Partnership: Handshake Institute x ADAO

## Introduction
### Handshake Institute

Handshake Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the development of open-source tooling for Handshake and for its integration and adoption as the root zone of the Internet.

### ADAO
ADAO is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that offers support for other DAOs in the form of open-source tooling and educational material for communities and organizations in the Cardano ecosystem.

## Partnership

Handshake Institute and ADAO join together as partners for mutual benefit.

Handshake Insitute desires for Handshake to be integrated into the Cardano ecosystem such that Handshake assets may be held and administered through the community toolkit produced and offered by ADAO. The Handshake community has need to develop, administer, and govern communities that involve Handshake assets.

The Cardano ecosystem has need of a resouce naming layer that integrates with the global DNS system. ADAO be able to serve this need by integrating Handshake asset management into its community toolkit offering.

For these purposes Handshake Institute and ADAO enter into a reciprocal partnership:

- Handshake Institute to provide
- consulting services to connect the Cardano and Handshake communities
- ADAO to provide
- technical and strategic consulting services to Handshake Institute for the development of tooling that facilitate the bridging of the Handshake and Cardano communities
- an open-source Community/Organization (DAO) Management toolkit that includes Handshake asset management and governance for the Cardano ecosystem.

### Transfer

Handshake Institute will deposit 100000 HNS (Handshake) into the ADAO Treasury as a token of this parnership.

In addition, the Handshake Institute will deposit `.cardano` governance tokens into the ADAO Treasury along with the `.adao` Handshake TLD.

## Statement of Needs and Services

For any joint project or undertaking, the intial draft of a specification will begin with the party in need and then be refined through collaboration between both parties.

Both parties will work in cooperation to clear the path for work to move forward on an item by item basis.
