# Gnosis Auction
## Story
Traditional auction houses have value because they have big and quality bidder clintele which usually comes because of high quality auctions (but also because of other inentives, connections and reputation).
Gnosis auctions expands on this by redefining who can partcipate: anyone and everyone , enabled by building on neutral premissionless infrastracture.
Gnosis auction will foster a community of auctioneers and biddrs in order to have fair value exchange.
When auctioning governance tokens, the question of **who** is participating is as important as the amount bid.
## Vision
The best place for (crypto) projects to raise capital and distribute their tokens to investors and users.
## Objectives
### Simplicity
Creating an auction is as simple as defining few deployment parameters. No coding required.
Users have all necessary tools to evaluate a token, and participating is a very simple 1-tx interaction.
### Extendability
Gnosis Auction could be extended to allow additional auction types and tools for teams to manage their capital raising, treasury and token governance.
### Efficient price discovery
Gnosis Auction enables efficient price discovery for a new token thus allowing to raise capital in a fair valuation.
## Design
Gnosis Auction design consists of three major components:
### Create
A set of Gnosis Safe apps which allows for crypto projects to simply manage their funding, treasury and governance. The first app is [IDOstarter](https://github.com/gnosis/ido-starter) which allows simple configuration and creatation of auctions.
In the future, additional management tools can be created such as:
- Token minter / manager
- Vesting management
- Additional auction types
- Allow list management
- Post-auction liquidity modules
### Explore
Enable users to explore pending, live and concluded auctions. There's high importance to useful and reliable information about the auction parameters, token details and project info.
### Invest
Allow users to interact with live auctions and provide relevant information about the auction's status.
## Feature Roadmap (short term)
- Refactoring and stability improvements
- Mobile support
- Bid amount limit per user
- Adding token pages to help people research before buying into an auction. Curation and data from Kleros list, at least initially.
- Auction scheduling - this will allow auctioneers to set up an auction for a future date using the parameter 'auction_start_date'
- BSC deployment and integration to the frontend
- Post auction liquidity module (balancer partnership?)
- Allow to increase bid price for existing bids at any time
- Allow to cancel bids which are guaranteed to not be included (problematic as the clearing price is not calculated on chain during the sale)
- PERP / Omen design for xDAI. Let the user deposit and then just sign messages and submit to a relayer
- UI page for clearing auctions

## Moats
### Brand
### Reputation
### Integrations
Integrations would be mainly relevant for recuring one-time events like liquidations or recollateralizations.
### Tooling
Great toolng could serve as a moat. Offering a high quality suite of tools for teams to raise funds, manage treasury and and governance could serve as a moat although it could be copied.
