Please feel free to follow up by emailing organizers@creativefreedomsummit.com with any questions. Review the schedule Please review the schedule for the Creative Freedom Summit on Sched. We did our best to accommodate preferred time slots and notes provided on the confirmation form. If anything has changed and you will not be able to make the time your session has been scheduled, please email organizers@creativefreedomsummit.com as soon as possible to let us know. Some of our speakers have flexibility, so if we need to rearrange things to ensure your participation, that is a possibility.   You can visit Sched.com to make an account if you don't have one. We encourage speakers to fill out their Sched profiles, make any necessary edits to your sessions description, and add a file for your slides.  Test your A/V and screen sharing We are using a Jitsi Meet instance that will stream to the Creative Freedom Summit Element/Matrix Channel and Peertube Channel for the Summit. We welcome you to use the Summit Green Room we have set up for speakers to test your A/V and screensharing (you will need to login to Jitsi in order to test). Jitsi supports a handful of common browsers on desktop and mobile. For more information check out the Supported Browsers page on the Jitsi Meet Handbook. Upload pre-recorded session files If you plan to pre-record your sessions, please upload your video file by January 16th, 2024, to this Google Drive Folder. If you have issues accessing the folder, you will be late uploading, or have decided to move to a live session, please contact organizers@creativefreedomsummit.com to make the organizing team aware.  Join the Summit and Speaker Channels on Element/Matrix You’ll need a Matrix network account to join the event live and to interact with other participants. If you don’t already have an account you can create one via Element’s Create Account page. Element offers free desktop or mobile apps to join the summit. Element also offers a web app that allows you to join from your browser. Once you have an Element account and preferred method of access, we encourage you to join the Creative Freedom Summit Element/Matrix Channel to interact with attendees at the event and watch other sessions. We have also set up a Creative Freedom Summit Backstage Channel to connect with the other speakers at the event, as well as have a direct line of communication to the organizers in case of technical difficulties. Join the live streaming Jitsi Meet instance for your session Please join the streaming Jitsi Meet instance 1-2 minutes before your session starts: https://meet.opensuse.org/creative-freedom-summit-backstage A host will be on screen to welcome you and help you kick off your session. The host will also join near the end of your session to moderate questions from the audience and ensure we are staying on schedule. Note that once you join the Jitsi Meet instance, you may be streaming live to the Creative Freedom Summit Element/Matrix and Peertube Channels. We will be cutting the stream off in between sessions, but there is a chance the previous session will run right to the end. The recordings will be available on the Peertube Channel shortly after the event, and will eventually be posted to the Fedora YouTube Channel after we process the videos. Please do not share the live streaming link. If you want to invite colleagues/friends/family to watch your session, please send them to the Element/Matrix and Peertube Channels. Q&A You have a fixed 25 or 50 minute time slot. We encourage you to include 5 to 10 minutes for questions from the audience, but it’s up to you how much time you want to dedicate to Q&A. If you would like a set amount of time for Q&A please let the host know at the beginning of your session. If you run out of time the Q&A can continue in the Summit Element/Matrix channel. Calendar Invite In order to help remind you when your session is happening, we will be sending you a meeting invite via Google Calendar to the email you provided on the CfP platform. For some of us, if it’s not on our calendars, it’s not happening! But if you would prefer not to track it this way, feel free to decline or ignore the invitation.
