**Greenpill Dev Guild Update - Octant Epoch 5 Funding** Thank you to the Octant community for the support and funding. We’re excited to share our latest progress and some shifts in our development timeline. Here’s the current status, expected outcomes, and roadmap for each key project. ### **Greenpill Commons** - **Current Status**: The design phase for Greenpill Commons is complete, but we haven’t yet started production. We’re currently evaluating the best blockchain to deploy on, with a target to launch an MVP in Q1 2025 to begin testing. - **Greenpill Impact Framework (GIF)**: We are developing the Greenpill Impact Framework (GIF), integrating **Hypercerts, EAS, and Karma GAP** to create a cohesive structure for tracking and assessing impact across Greenpill initiatives. - **Roadmap and Next Steps**: We still need to complete product development and update the Project Requirements Document (PRD) to align with the framework’s goals. - **Expected Outcomes**: - **Q4 2024**: Finalize the GIF, define technical aspects, and update the PRD to ensure alignment with the platform’s long-term objectives. - **Q1 2025**: Launch the Greenpill Commons MVP, enabling Greenpill Chapters to begin testing decentralized problem-solving and community engagement tools. ### **Green Goods** - **Refined Focus**: Initially, Green Goods was designed as a comprehensive toolset to document various regenerative activities within green spaces. However, we decided to prioritize **biodiversity data input** as the core focus of this MVP. Other activities, such as planting and pruning, will remain in development as parallel actions. - **Partnership with Silvi Protocol and Treekipedia**: This shift towards biodiversity aligns with our ongoing collaboration with **Silvi Protocol** and their open-source tree database, **Treekipedia**. Our vision is to standardize raw data inputs from Green Goods into Treekipedia and, in turn, use their APIs to enrich data with species-level information. - **Green Goods UI Design**: Current UI and design elements are available here: https://www.figma.com/design/kcBMyfhRyt0ykohHOGBiJ7 - **Treekipedia Overview**: GitHub - https://github.com/SilviProtocol/silvi-open/tree/master/Treekipedia and YouTube Overview - https://youtu.be/asWx0lJdpeU - **Timeline**: With the refocus on biodiversity data input, the pilot has been rescheduled for Q1 2025. We aim to have a fully functional MVP with a refined UX by the end of 2024, completing testing and quality assurance (Q&A) by December. - **Expected Outcomes**: - **Q4 2024**: A fully tested low-resolution prototype for tree observations, incorporating feedback. - **Q1 2025**: Launch the pilot with at least 10 active users registering new trees and earning rewards. ### **Impact Reef** - **Status Update**: We completed QA for Impact Reef and are actively conducting bug hunting while focusing on community growth. This progress puts us on track to prepare for release and community engagement in mid-September. - **Goals for Release**: Our focus remains on helping projects obtain meaningful community endorsements and providing Optimism badge holders with a combination of quantitative and qualitative project data to support public goods funding decisions. - **Expected Outcomes**: - **Q4 2024**: Expanded community growth around the platform with strengthened QA to ensure a smooth user experience and successful project endorsement process. ### **Community Building and Workshops** - **Workshops**: We’ve conducted workshops on **Hypercerts** and **Passport.xyz**, with a **Karma GAP** workshop scheduled for November. Other upcoming workshops on **EAS, Charmverse,** and **Gnosis Safe** are in the queue, with the next one likely to be held in December. - **X Spaces**: We hosted two Twitter Spaces over the last two months and plan to hold a third at the end of November. - **Retroactive Payments**: Funding will also cover retroactive payments for contributors who worked in previous quarters. - **Expected Outcomes**: - **Q4 2024**: Completion of planned workshops on Karma GAP, EAS, Charmverse, and Gnosis Safe, along with the third Twitter Space event in November. - **Q4 2024**: Retroactive payments for contributors, ensuring continued engagement and acknowledging their past contributions to our initiatives. ### **Additional Updates** - **New Bounties**: We’re introducing new bounties for projects that have received funding, to encourage follow-up activities and continued engagement. - **Team Expansion**: We’re setting up new leads for the Business Development and Product branches to strengthen our operational capacity. - **New Workstream**: We’re initiating a new workstream for the **GreenWill** project, which will focus on governance and regenerative finance initiatives within the network. Thank you again for your support. We’re committed to building tools that advance regenerative public goods, and we’ll continue to keep the community updated on our progress and key milestones. We look forward to sharing more in the coming months as we reach our project milestones and continue our mission.
