# About Catalyst United ### What is Catalyst United? **Catalyst United** is a Cardano community Discord server that is open to all persons. As a working server, it originally started life as the **CA/vCA Hub** back in April 2022 with the sole intention of creating a better experience for the CA/vCA (now PA and vPA) community who had been struggling with the Telegram platform. During the early days we decided to implement a few [integrations](/IHoLCTugRCeeXoIIZrgO6g): primarily Dework for task and project tracking along and GitHub for archiving. After Fund 8 more groups decided to make the **CA/vCA Hub** a home for their teams. With the addition of these new teams and a deviation from just CA/vCA activities the server name was changed to **Catalyst United** as an indication that the server community had grown beyond labels. ### What is Cardano? [Cardano](https://cardano.org) is a blockchain platform for changemakers, innovators, and visionaries, with the tools and technologies required to create possibility for the many, as well as the few, and bring about positive global change. Cardano Project Catalyst is a community driven project incubator that funds community-voted proposals directly from the Cardano Treasury.
