This guide will walk you through the steps needed to get started as a Casimir staker. Learn more about Casimir [here](https://github.com/consensusnetworks/casimir#readme).

> 🚩 Before our live Goerli Testnet deployment, we are using a beta network (a Goerli fork) that may be restarted at any time that will result in the resetting of staking accounts. Our [discord](https://discord.com/invite/Vy2b3gSZx8) will provide updates in the #beta channel.

## Setup

Before you can stake, you need:

- MetaMask installed on your browser
- A wallet account with Goerli Testnet ETH
- A custom network "Hardhat" added to your MetaMask

### Step 1: Install MetaMask

If you haven't already, install MetaMask on your browser. You can download it from the [official MetaMask website](https://metamask.io/download/).

### Step 2: Add/Select a Wallet Account with Goerli Testnet ETH

After installing MetaMask, you need to add or select a wallet account that has Goerli Testnet ETH.

### Step 3: Add/Select the Hardhat Custom Network

Next, you need to add the Hardhat custom network to your MetaMask. Here are the details you need:

- New RPC URL: https://nodes.casimir.co/eth/hardhat
- Chain ID: 5
- Currency Symbol: ETH

To add the Hardhat network, follow these steps:

1. Open the MetaMask extension and click on the network selection dropdown in the top left (it's likely set to Ethereum Mainnet by default).
2. At the bottom of the dropdown, click on the "Add network" option.
3. On the "Add a network" page (new open tab from MetaMask) select "Add a network manually".

5. Click "Save" to finish adding the Hardhat network.

### Step 4: Access the Casimir App

Now that you've set up MetaMask, you can access the Casimir app (beta) at [https://app.dev.casimir.co](https://app.dev.casimir.co).
