- no constraint based on image size
- multi-scale for zarr v3 not available yet
- will test with different parameters to understand IO speed: number of shard files, chunk size (64x64x64 --> entire shard), direct comparison with ims writer, compression
- recommend to test with real camera. simulated camera may fail when running mutiple runs
- q: does neuroglancer need multi-scale
