--- title: Instructions for Page Managers tags: instructions --- # Instructions for Page Managers ## What to find here In this site you will find a short and simple manual with steps to follow to validate the information sent by volunteers before uploading it on the live Wiki. ## Useful shortcuts * [About the handbook and Wiki](https://c19vax.scibeh.org/policy#About-the-COVID-19-Vaccine-Communication-Handbook-and-Wiki) * [Current list of pages and team assignments](https://hackmd.io/@c19vaxdraft/welcome#Live-Wiki-pages) * [Instructions to authors](https://hackmd.io/@scibehC19vax/instructions): guidelines and tips for updating the Wiki pages * [How the handbook and wiki came about page](https://c19vax.scibeh.org/how): formal documentation of roles and processes * [Github for the c19vax-wiki](https://github.com/scibeh/c19vaxwiki) ## Checking the information and updating the wiki These are the steps to update the Wiki through GitHub (i.e., when the SciBeh volunteers have made an update for approval). You should be tagged in GitHub and receive an email alert for a 'Pull Request'. However, if you don't get this for more than a week, we recommend checking in with GitHub to see if there has been new information proposed for your page. 1. Login to the [scibeh c19vaxwiki repository on Github](https://github.com/scibeh/c19vaxwiki) and look if there are any new changes in your 'branch' (see 'GitHub edit here' link in the table below for the direct link to your branch). ![](https://i.imgur.com/Kx0owmq.png) 2. The proposed changes to the page will appear in GitHub as a 'Pull Request'. ![](https://i.imgur.com/ROa8RMX.png) Click on the item to work on it: ![](https://i.imgur.com/jpBjyBV.png) 3. You can see the proposed changes in the 'Files Changed' tab. This gives you a comparison of the old version (on the left) and new version (on the right), changes marked in green. You can also click on the little page icon next to 'Viewed' on the right side to see a tracked-changes view instead. ![](https://i.imgur.com/W7iLtuj.png) 4. [Optional] To edit the file, click on the three dots next to 'Viewed' and find the 'edit' button in the drop down menu: ![](https://i.imgur.com/HsN9Euj.png) 5. **If you edited the page**, when you are happy with your edits, click 'Commit' at the bottom of the page. (If no edits, this step is redundant.) ![](https://i.imgur.com/7M13Duk.png) 6. Go back to the 'Pull Request' and click the green **Merge pull request** button. ![](https://i.imgur.com/BvKaGYT.png) It will ask to you confirm. ![](https://i.imgur.com/I6Ct6YH.png) Beware: after you click Merge, you may be told you can delete the branch. DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING. ![](https://i.imgur.com/luigzG4.png) >[name=Dawn H] I will also have to add a screenshot here when there is something for me to merge and update! 7. Go to the Wiki page that you manage (the complete list of links can be found [here](https://hackmd.io/I1VU6b7eR1uhxQaLDRuGeA?view#Links-for-Wiki-Editing) or in the table below) and click on the **Versions and GitHub Sync** button that is on the **Menu** section. ![](https://i.imgur.com/nxsIIl9.png) 8. Once you click there you a new window will appear. Click on the **Pull** button. ![](https://i.imgur.com/cbTdnMZ.png) 9. Remember to always pull from the **main** branch. ![](https://i.imgur.com/C67lPKH.png) 10. You will be able to see two parallel windows. One will show you the original version and the other one will show you the one with the suggestions from the volunteers. Once you have validated the information, click on **Apply all changes**. You can also edit directly on this window. ![](https://i.imgur.com/x7gwYwy.png) {%hackmd SwnMeXf9SEG9GTOKkT5eZg %}
