# 🇦🇹 Updates aus der Eval-Arbeitsgruppe

@itsafeh (Felix) und @bigmike (Mike) aus der StV Informatik & AI sind seit dem Juli 2021 stellvertretend für alle Studierenden in einer Arbeitsgruppe zur Überarbeitung der LVA-Evaluierung. Mit dabei sind neben dem Vizerektor für Lehre, dem Senatsvorsitzenden, Mitgliedern der Abteilung für Qualitätsmanagement und Expert:innen aus der School of Education auch Professor:innen und Vertreter des Betriebsrats.

Gemeinsam versuchen wir so, die Evaluierung attraktiver zu machen, den Rücklauf zu steigern und die Ergebnisse verwertbarer zu machen.
Dafür haben wir zwei Umfragen entworfen und am 25.10. an alle Studierenden und Lehrenden versandt. Wir möchten uns noch einmal für eure Teilnahme bedanken!

## Ergebnisse der Studierenden-Umfrage
Die Arbeitsgruppe hat die Ergebnisse intern bereits intensiv diskutiert und versucht, basierend darauf nicht nur einen neuen Fragebogen zu entwerfen, sondern auch das Evaluierungssystem rundherum anzupassen.

Gemeinsam arbeiten wir daran, euch die detaillierten Ergebnisse unserer Studierenden-Umfrage mitzuteilen und auch gleich dazulegen, wie sie unsere Entscheidungen in der Wahl des neuen Systems beeinflusst haben. Noch sind aber nicht alle Einzelheiten fixiert, alle Maßnahmen sind also noch Work in Progress. Wir Studierende wollten euch trotzdem schon einmal die drei unserer Meinung nach interessantesten Punkte der Umfrage vorstellen:

### Ziele der LVA-Evaluierung
Studierende haben vor allem die folgenden Ziele als wichtig eingestuft:
- Feedback an Lehrende
- Verbesserung der Lehre
- Dokumentation der Lehrqualität
- Kommunikation und Austausch zwischen Lehrenden und Studierenden
- Information für zukünftige LVA-Teilnehmer:innen

### Teilnahmegründe
Studierende nehmen vor allem bei besonders schlechten und besonders guten LVAs an der Evaluierung teil. Umgekehrt nehmen sie vor allem nicht an der Eval teil, weil...
- sie nichts anzumerken haben.
- sie auf die Evaluierung vergessen haben.
- sie zu viele Evaluierungen auf einmal haben.
- ihnen der Umgang mit den Ergebnissen nichts klar ist.

### Fragen-Kategorien
Praktisch alle bisherigen Kategorien und Inhalte des Fragebogens waren für Studierende sehr wichtig.

## Was ist der aktuelle Stand?
Es gibt viele Punkte, in denen sich alle Parteien einig sind, und wir haben auch schon einige konkrete Maßnahmen getroffen. Wir sind darum guter Dinge, dass wir die identifizierten Probleme schon bald lösen können: Mittlerweile ist die Gruppe schon bei Detaildiskussionen zur konkreten Implementierung angelangt, und wir erhoffen uns pünktlich zur Evaluierung im nächsten Semester ein Ergebnis.

Und auch wenn der aktuelle Fragebogen nicht perfekt ist - bitte evaluiert!
Ich habe eingangs geschrieben, dass auch die Lehrenden eine Umfrage bekommen haben, und die bestätigt, was wir in der ÖH auch immer wieder merken: Auch die Lehrenden sind offen für Feedback und überarbeiten ihre Lehre bei Bedarf gerne - aber dafür braucht es ausreichend Teilnehmende an den Evaluierungen und Leute, die ihnen zeigen, wie es besser geht!

# 🇬🇧 Updates from the Eval Working Group
Since July 2021, @itsafeh (Felix) and @bigmike (Mike) from the StV Informatik & AI have been representing all students in a working group to revise the LVA evaluation. In addition to the Vice Rector for Teaching, the Chair of the Senate, members of the Quality Management Department and experts from the School of Education, professors and representatives of the works council are also involved.

Together we are trying to make the evaluation more attractive, increase the response rate and make the results more valuable.
For this purpose, we have designed two surveys and sent them to all students and teachers on 25th October. We would like to thank you once again for your participation!

## Results of the student survey
The working group has already discussed the results intensively internally and tried to not only design a new questionnaire based on them, but also to adapt the evaluation system all around.

Together, we are working on sharing the detailed results of our student survey with you and how they have influenced our decisions in choosing the new system. However, not all details have been fixed yet, so all measures are still work in progress. Nevertheless, we students wanted to present to you the three points from the survey that we think are the most interesting:

### Goals of the LVA evaluation
Students rated the following goals as particularly important:
- Feedback to teachers
- Improvement of teaching
- Documentation of teaching quality
- Communication and exchange between teachers and students
- Information for future LVA participants

### Reasons for participation
Students mainly participate in the evaluation of particularly bad and particularly good courses. In turn, they do not take part in the evaluation because...
- they have nothing to say.
- they have forgotten about the evaluation.
- they have too many evaluations at once.
- they do not understand what is done with the results.

### Question categories
Almost all of the previous categories of the questionnaire were very important to students.

## What is the current status?
There are many points on which all parties agree, and we have already taken some concrete measures. We are therefore confident that we will soon be able to solve the identified problems: In the meantime, the group has already reached detailed discussions on specific implementations, and we hope to have a result in time for the evaluation next semester.

I mentioned in the beginning that the teachers also received a survey, and it confirms what we in the ÖH have noticed time and again: Teachers are also open to feedback and are happy to revise their teaching if necessary - but for this, we need enough participants in the evaluations and people who show them how to do it better!
