  • Intro After too many years as the Head of the Student Union for Computer Science, I am stepping down to make room for new people and ideas. To celebrate, I have tracked my last two years of ÖH work and want to share a report on my time spent working for the Student Union. I hope this gives some insight into the Student Unions work, and the terrible exhausting and incredible rewarding job my successors are inheriting. This data is from the last election cycle, from 01.07.2023-30.06.2025. Please note, however, that... the StV Informatik consists of ca. 25 people, the whole faculty-wide representation (ÖH TNF) of another ~200 people. This insight is therefore naturally very limited in scope and only shows projects that I am involved in, and only the time I personally have invested in them.

  • Like last year, we can now present you with an overview of our budget in our last fiscal year (01.07.2024 - 30.06.2025). As usual, these are our internal recordings, our finances are yet to be checked by ÖH JKU's financial control committee and tax attorneys. ÖH JKU's budget overview is published here - following a recent motion, all individual bigger expenses are also published there now. With that said, let's look at this simplified overview of all expenses StV Informatik had in the last year: image Income ÖH Fee: 6.250€

  • Now that the study year is over, we want to give you an overview of what we did with last year's budget. Note that the overall ÖH budget has not yet been checked by our financial control committee, our tax attorney and the BMBWF - we have not yet received confirmation on our status. The overall ÖH budget is published here once all checks are complete: https://oeh.jku.at/oeh-jku/finanzen The image shows what the StV Informatik has used its yearly budget for in a simplified overview. See the thread for additional explanations. Also, on the topic of money: Don't forget to pay your tuition fee / ÖH fee for the next semester, see öh-work for more. stvinf_budget_overview Costs Events: 5900€ As you can see, the StV invest a lot of money into events. Many of our events are also supported by the Faculty Representation (ÖH TNF). The biggest events by far are the Einstandsfest and the StV Grillerei - it is unsurprisingly pretty costly to hand out free food and drinks to hundreds of students.

  • As student representatives, the ÖH Student Union for Computer Science ("ÖH StV Informatik") depends on feedback to do its job properly. We therefore sent out surveys to all our students via email and Discord and collected your responses from 14.01. to 06.02.2025. These are the detailed results for each question and the consequences we draw from them. Demographics 58 people participated in our survey. What are you studying? Study

  • Intro As is tradition, I publish a yearly report of my time spent working for the Student Union. I am collecting these statistics for two reasons: First and foremost, this is my attempt to please our AI overlords by submitting my training data willingly. Secondly, I want to give a transparent insight into the work of the Student Union. A few very important caveats that should be mentioned upfront: The StV Informatik consists of ca. 30 people, the whole faculty-wide representation (ÖH TNF) of another ~190 people. This insight is therefore naturally very limited in scope and only shows projects that I am involved in, and only the time I personally have invested in them. More on that later.

  • From 22.01. to 18.02. we collected your feedback on our work as ÖH Student Union (StV) for Informatik. These are the detailed results for each question and what we plan to do as a consequence. Scale questions could be answered using a scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 7 (strongly agree). The average and median are given to account for outliers. I am generally happy with the work of the StV. AVG: 6.0, MED: 6 Agreement with this statement is higher than it has ever been. We are very happy with this result!

  • From 31.01. to 13.02. we collected your feedback on our work as ÖH Student Union (StV) for Informatik & AI. 81 people participated in our survey. These are the detailed results for each question and what we plan to do as a consequence. Every question could be answered using a scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 7 (strongly agree), unless noted otherwise. The average and median are given to account for outliers. Some of the results of a category’s open questions have been moved and will be discussed at the appropriate category, since there was a lot of overlap between them. I am generally happy with the work of the StV. AVG: 5.8, MED: 6
