###### tags: `Course Owners` `FAQ` # Frequently Asked Questions - by Course Owners ## What are the formats of the courses? There are two key components to the courses on the platform: a. They are about the new ways of working (collaborative, agile, decentralised and networked) and b. Their basic building block one or many online workshops (live online facilitated sessions with up to 20 people). Then, there are two types of courses: 1. Short workshops (one single session of two hours duration, covering one specific subject), shown in blue on the platform, and 2. Long courses (consisting of 4-5 weeks of online sessions and homework in between), shown in pink on the platform. ## Will you help me design an online workshop? Certainly! Online workshops are tricky at first, since we lose some elements of in-real-life workshops, but they also provide new opportunities. The most important thing when designing the online workshops is to keep them engaging and very participatory. To this end, we normally spend a couple of sessions with new course owners to help them with the design and share our insights. This is probably the biggest value for course owners in the early stages. ## Will you help me during the facilitation of the workshop? Certainly! Normally we have one experienced facilitator with the course owners to look after the technical stuff (Zoom, participants with technical problems, management of the breakout rooms, etc) so that the course owner can focus on the content and the exercises, while they get familiar with the format. We hope that soon you will feel entirely comfortable with Zoom and the format, so you won't be needing us any more. ## How do you sell tickets? We communicate with our social media accounts and send newsletters, but the real key to success is on the course owners, who are the ones who better know the content and the target audience. This is a joint effort! ## Why do the short courses cost 30 euros? The idea of the short courses is to provide a bite-sized piece of content so people get familiar with the format and hopefully will encourage them to try a bigger course. 30 euros is a figure that is cheap but it's not nothing. The main point of this price mark is to make sure that most people who sign up for the workshop actually show up. Since the workshops are very participatory, they have to be limited to 15-20 people max and thus, we need to make sure that seats aren't wasted. ## What is the money split in the short courses? For short courses, we are currently splitting 50/50 between you and the platform, but if you would prefer a different arrangement, please let us know. Honestly, the short courses are very cheap and don't generate much money. We think they are valuable for you to test the content and to design a workshop, and for us to complement the rest of the courses with your course and to increase our reach. ## What is the discount policy? You will receive a 20% discount code for your course with unlimited uses that you can use as you see fit. Additionally, we can generate a small number of free tickets that you can use sparingly. Personally, I only invite people from whom I want feedback or because we have an ongoing relationship of doing things for each other. Whatever the case, I always ask them to be responsible and only use the invitation if they are serious about coming.
