# Sophia B: Global Talent Letter of Recc Requirements > **Premise:** The Global Talent visa requires an endorsement from Tech Nation (for the digital technologies visa). That endorsement requires 3 letters of reccomendation as well as my credentials and letter of purpose. > **What is needed:** Three letters of recommendation from three different well-established organisations acknowledged as experts in the digital technology field. #### Each person who writes a letter for you must: * Be a senior member of their organisation * Know your work ## Letter Requirements * Be typed and dated * Be up to 3 single sides of A4 paper * Mention that the letter is for the Global Talent application * Be signed by the author, or by someone on behalf of the organisation recommending you * Include a telephone number and email address, and the organisation’s logo and registered address, if applicable * Come with the author’s CV (or other proof of their credentials that the endorsing body will accept) ### Letter's Content Must Include * Say how they know me * Give reference to an achievement of why I could be a potential leader in the digital technology sector * Say how I would benefit from living in the UK * Say how I would contribute to the UK's digital technology field * Explain what plans you have for work in the future ## Example/Template > what the committee is looking for: > - Indication that you drove the growth of a product-led digital technology company, product or team inside a digital technology company, as evidenced by reference letter(s) from leading industry expert(s) describing your work, or as evidenced by news clippings, lines of code from public repos or similar evidence. > - Indication that I have the potential to develop and support the development of digital technologies in the UK #### Mention that the letter is for the Global Talent application #### Say how the person knows you #### Show your achievements in the digital technology sector, and how you are a leader or **potential leader** * Won Nextant Rising Star Prize * Led UC Berkeley VRaB * Researcher with sound background (aka. an academic with an entrepreneurial mindset) * Won Seattle Hackaton * Member of XRSI * Contributor to the Turing Way * Developed and shipped the first commercially available BCI that had on-device machine learning * co-autor on 3 patents in BCI technologies #### Say how you would benefit from living in the UK * The technology sector of the UK is larger and more densely connected than in NZ * Close to the academic institutions working on deep research (6D.ai came out of Oxford) * Foster academic and industry collaborations * Benefit from the tech ecosystem * Open Research community in the UK #### Say how you would contribute to the digital technology field in the UK * Contribute to the tech ecosystem * XR health alliance in collaboration with NHSx (VR’s medical applications) - Safe and effective treatments * Bridge the gap between academia and industry #### Explain what plans you have for work in the future * In the short term * Conduct research that would develop safe and effective technologies * Help the NHSx and Health Alliance build out their approach (and what clinical research is needed) * Build an interoperable citizen science platform for research in virtual reality * Sister project to AutSPACEs and The Turing Way * In the long term * Wants to found a “non-profit”/“community goods” company that supports the safe and effective implementation of virtual reality technologies in health and medical settings
