# Thesis: Can beat FUD with Development Insights ***tldr;*** Being able to read code and having knowledge of Software projects gives us an unfair advantage when investing in open source projects. ## Questions * How do we measure this? ## Doubt * How often and what qualitative metrics make this actionable? ## Evidence * The lack of attention to security from the second hack allowed us to predict they were launching unsafely. * Post third ThorChain hack, being involved in the Discord indicated they were starting to take the security seriously and future code deployed has a much lower chance of bugs. ## Random Thoughts Is this a thesis? * For Thorchain Hack, we were able to do an event driven trade based on the code / dev understanding * Near protocol is another one where the development team is excellent, is this an advantage? * On the other hand Terra doesn't look particulary strong, is this a disadvantage
