Taiwan Community & COSCUP or, COME VISIT TAIWAN!
今日のメイン(main)テーマ(te-ma)は、 台湾オープンソースコミュニティの概要(gaiyō)を紹介し、 毎年恒例(ko rei)、８月で開催(kaisai)した台湾のオープンソースイベント「COSCUP」を皆さんに誘(saso)いたいと思います
以前２００９年のとき、もじら組を主催(shusai)した 「Mozilla Party JP 10」で、 台湾のモジラコミュニティを紹介することもあります。
そのイベントを参加した人は いませんか？

あとは聴(ki)くど、あれは最終回らしいです、 でもそのイベントのお陰(kage)で、 Pythonコミュニティの堀田(Hotta)さんと寺田(Terada)さんと出会(de a)いし、 さらに堀田さんから OSC の宮原(Miyahira)さんを紹介して、 今(kon)回(kai) OSC と COSCUP とのコラボレーションを 成(na)り上(a)げた。
２０１７年の時に 私も調布市(choufushi)で開催(kaisai)する openSUSE.Asia Summit の ライトニングトーク (lightning talk) セッション(session) で WebVR に 関(kan)することを 紹介しました
でも今回は、私人生初めての日本語プレゼンテーションです。
正直(shojiki)と言(i)うと、私の日本語は まだまだコミュニケーションできるレベルじゃないです。

let me talk a little bit about the Open Source Community in Taiwan
1998 C hinese GNU/ L inux E xtensions
「オープンソース」という名詞(めいし)は およそ１９９８年で現(arawa)れました。 あの頃(goro)は台湾に Linux を弄(iji)る人はすでに数人(sūnin)がいるし その後(go)「CLE（Chinese Linux Extensions）」という 中国語情報処理(shori)の 諸(sho)問題を対処(taisho)するプロジェクト(project)を現(arawa)れました。
そして各(kaku)Linux ディストリビューション(Distribution)は その成果(seika)を吸収(kyūshū)して その結果はインストールと使用(shiyō)は 以前より簡単 使用者数(shiyosha sū)も だんだん上(a)がりました。
1998 C hinese GNU/ L inux E xtensions
1998, the term "Open Source" coined by a group of gurus. At the same time a few people in Taiwan using Linux and started the project CLE, stands for Chinese Linux Extension, to package softwares for Linux that solved problems on Chinese handling.
After few years, CLE results are included in distrobutions and make Linux much more easier to use than before, extend the user base hugely.

SLAT born, OSW became "ICOS"
台湾早期(sōki)のオープンソースコンファレンスは、１９９９年で開催した「Open Source Workshop」です。 そのコンファレンスを機会(kikai)として生(u)まれだのは、台湾オープンソースコミュニティ最初の社団法人(shadanhōjin)「ソフトウェア自由協会(kyōkai')」（SLAT）、そして規模(kibo)を更(sara)に拡大(kakudai)するコンファレンス「ICOS」。
SLAT のビジュン(vision)は業界(gyōkai)や学界(gakkai)、政府(seifu)などの力に合わせて フリーソフトウェアを推進(suishin)することです。

In 1999, community members starts a one-day conference called "open source workshop," later it becomes ICOS, which stands for International Conference on Open Source, people love to put "international" in event title in past years …
To help open source software adoptation, they funded the "Software Liberty Association of Taiwan," or SLAT, the first opensource-related NGO in Taiwan.

Few years after, due to some conflict, some of ICOS community members decide to create another conference, COSCUP. The main focus of COSCUP is all about OSS community.
OSS = Hobby 実は、台湾のソフトウェア業界(gyokai)はまだはやっでいない。トレンドマイクロ(treadmicro)やレイアーク、弊社(heisha) KKBOX などの以外、ほとんどのエンジニアはハードウェア、電子企業(denshi kigyō)。他(hoka)にはウェブサイト(website)、システム(system)を開発(hatsu)する小さな開発会社がたくさんいます。開発者達は退(tai)社後(go)もまだコミュニティを参加する原因(gen'in)は、大体(daitai)興味のためですから。その原因で、台湾のオープンソースコミュニティは随分(zuibun)にぎやかです。
この数年(sū-nen)、日本のコミュニティもとってもにぎやかで私はそう見えますから、多分僕たちは似(ni)ています。
OSS = Hobby In Taiwan we don't really have a strong software industry.
Engineers are usually join hardware or electronics industry.
Many of us joined open source software community, only because we like it, kinda of a hobby. Open Source communities in Taiwan usually have a joyful feeling. It would probably also true in Japan, at least that's what I feel when I attend OSC Tokyo this spring.

A meetup a day help you mastering the open source way
台湾にはそれぞれのコミュニティが活躍(katsuyaku)しています。単(tan)に台北を見ると、最(motto)も はやる時期(jiki)に、毎晩(maiban)オープンソースに関するミートアップを参加可能です。
Just like what you see in other place, we now have communities on many area. In Taipei, you can nearly attend a meetup everyday, weekday or weekend.
More Communities, more events … 色ん(i-ron)なコミュニティがあって、それぞれのコンファレンスをやって、その故に(yueni)法律上の(hōritsu-jō)ニーズが増えます(fuemasu)。
As the community grows, people starts feel that we really need a legal entity to solve problem especially on law and finance management.
開放文化基金會 Open Culture Foundation それをきっかけに、財団(zaidan)法人(hōjin)オープカルチャーファウンデーションが2015年に成立(seiritsu)し、各(kaku)オープンソースコミュニティの財務処理(zaimu shori)を手伝い(tetsudai)します。
so in 2015 a group of people, me included, established Open Culture Foundation, to handle the issues.

財務(Zaimu)処理(shori)の手伝い(tetsudai)以外、台湾社会にオーペンカルチャーのことをもっと分かる(wakaru)ために、他(hoka)の企画(kikaku)も始まる。例えば、世界各地(kakuchi)のオープンソースやオープンデータ、オープンガバメント などのニュース を紹介し、毎週発表(happyō)する OCF Lab。
そしてコミュニティ達にお互い(tagai)コミュニティ経営(keiei)に関する経験(keiken)や インフォメーション (information) をシェア (share) するコンファレンス(conference)：ConCom – Conference for open Communities。
We have cooperated with many communities and their projects, also host our own project to promote things around open source, open data, and open government. Like a news blog called "OCF Lab," or events about event and community organizing, named "ConCom," which means Conference for open community organizers.

COSCUP？ Conference for Open Source Coders , Users , and Promoters
COSCUPとは、Conference for Open Source Coders, Users, and Promotersの略称、台湾最大級(kyū)のオープンソースコンファレンスです。
COSCUP stands for Conference for Open Source Coders, Users, and Promoters. It's the largest community-driven open source events in Taiwan. I'll use English to explan the definition on screen but will not repeat again in following slides.
Users End Users & Power Users
Users はエンドユーザー(end-user)を含め(fukume)で、「他人(tanin)のソフトウェアを使う人」という意味です。例えば Vue.js を使ってウェブサイトを建(ta)てると、「Vue.js のユーザー」とも言える
Promoters write how-tos, l10n, event hosting, growing community, packaging … etc.

So that's COSCUP, a conference for these kinds of people to hangout together.

普通(Futsū)は特定のテーマを決める(kimeru)コンファレンスです、例えば皆さんも必ず(kanarazu)知ってる PyConとか、RubyConfとか、WordCampとか。
COSCUP のような色んな領域(ryōiki)を含む(fukumu)コンファレンスは、各コミュニティを協力(kyōryoku)し、オープンソースを推進(suishin)する方法はとっても重視(jūshi)します。
例えば僕達もコミュニティ ブース(community booth)を 設置(setchi)していますとか。

今年(kotoshi)春(haru)の時、私は「OSC Tokyo 春(haru)」を参加するあと、 記事(kiji)で OSC と COSCUP の 類似点(ruiji-ten)や 相違点(soui-ten)を 一覧(ichiran)になって書(ka)きました。
この２つ(futatsu)のコンファレンスは よく似(ni)っています、例えば：

COSCUP 最大の特徴(tokuchō)はドロドロな、にぎやかなコミュニティ的(teki)なスタイル。 例えば、人々(hitobito)はコンファレンスで何か新しいものを発表するらしいです。COSCUP も：
それ以外、あるコミュニティメンバーは自分(jibun)の家(COSCUP)で、自分の家族(kazoku)(参加者)の前(mae)に、大学(daigaku)から中退(chūtai)を宣言(sengen)する
更(sara)に、COSCUP で彼女(kanojo)と求婚(kyūkon)！
結婚(kekkon)といえば、コミュニティのメンバーは次々(Tsugi tsugi)と結婚し、子供(kodomo)もいます。子供の世話(sewa)をするために、コンファレンスの参加をやめました。
この問題を解決(Kaiketsu)するために、COSCUP は以前子供のためのワークショップをやっていました、そして今年(Kotoshi)も保育(hoiku)サービスを試(Tame)しました。今回はいろんな参加者はこのサービスを利用して、みんな良(yo)い感想(kansou)をもらいました。来年も続(tsuzu)き、この様(yū)なサービスを提供(teikyou)したいです。
先(saki)話(hana)した COSCUP 全セション(session)のスピーカー、 その３割(wari)は海外(kaigai)から、 その「海外」は日本の海外じゃなくで台湾の海外です。 中国から来たのはやっば中国語で、 でも他の所(tokoro)から来た人は主に(おもに)英語で話します。
僕達の目標は、中国語わかんないの参加者をより便利するために、 来年２０２０年の全セションは英語版(ban)の概要が付（つ）いてます。
