## Mentor-mentee call guidance
* The mentor-mentee calls occur once per month (unless mentioned otherwise) and last for a minimum of 1-hour.
* Mentees will prompt monthly meetings and populate this document, or another note keeping format of their choice, with relevant queries or exercises.
* If a mentor is expected to action/review items in advance of a meeting, mentees should ensure ample time for mentors to do so.
* Please coordinate with your mentor how you manage the notes and assignments for your 1:1 calls. We appreciate that HackMD may not be everyone's preference so please feel free to use another note taking format or application.
* The agenda items below are for suggestion and can/should be tailored for project specific goals.
### Scope of mentorship
* Mentees and mentors will complete actions from their 1:1 meeting to the best of their abilities in advance of the next month's meeting.
* Mentors and mentees should allow space to review progress on the mentorship relationship together where mentees provide constructive feedback.
* The mentor role includes, but is not limited to:
* One-to-one support in project scoping, development and delivery
* Advise on appropriate tools and methods to engage with policy
* Connecting mentees with relevant stakeholders
* Informing mentees of relevant opportunities
- Networking
* Mentors cannot participate in conducting practical aspects of the research such as: collecting, using, analyzing and reporting on data.
* If an activity arises and you are unsure if it constitutes as a practical research activity, please get in contact with bnea@turing.ac.uk before undertaking any action.
:::info
If you wish to share any feedback / concerns regarding the mentorship process, please contact Bridget Nea at bnea@turing.ac.uk and we will listen / act with complete discretion.
