- Maintainers recommend moving forward with EMG (partially originated this dicussion); would like Steering's blessing. A working group has been created to resolve this. ~~Would like steering to weigh in on the modality and data types discussion

- We'd like steering to help get commitments from (possibly) define some windows (2 weeks) and a priority/schedule for the existing open BEP's with the aim of a 1.11 BIDS release in December or January:

**BIDS in-person meeting before/after OHBM 2026**
It would be useful to meet before OHBM,
YH: brainhack is right before OHBM, we could make a BIDS meeting overlap with the brainhack.
CM: we could use brainhack, this may depend on how large the BIDS meeting is. If BIDS is large enough, we may want an independent meeting.
Before OHBM is easier.
Lets poll maintainers:
1. before brainhack,
2. during brainhack,
3. before OHBM separate from brainhack
4. after OHBM
YH: Proposal to *upgrade* into "BIDS Conference" for 3-4 days... could include posters.
CM: At minimum we should plan a 2 hour meeting for steering.
DH: a few of us will be at SfN, we could set up a meeting there, but OHBM tens to be the main hub for BIDS.
Note: if in conjunction with Brainhack, this will have to be discussed with OSSIG leadership.
**Maintainers**
Minor suffix with EMG, so maintainers pushed it through to make progress.
Release planned for December maybe January, need steering to prioritize BEPs for approval.
BEPS:
- We'd like steering to define some windows (2 weeks) and a priority/schedule for the existing open BEP's with the aim of a 1.11 BIDS release in December or January:
- [Open BEPS](https://hackmd.io/JLMh7W-hQPWeKE3lNsEhcw?stext=1007%3A4%3A0%3A1755800916%3AFR2TPq&both=)
DH: is there a guide for prioritizing BEPS?
AG: maybe prioritize so that leads arent focusing on multiple BEPS are the same time.
YH: of opinion that "order of review" should be defined deterministically, e.g. based on dates within https://github.com/bids-standard/bids-website/blob/main/data/beps/beps.yml
CM: in the past, BEP leads would intiate moving forward at each step, is this process changing?
AG: maintainers are simply trying to 'tie up loose ends' by nudging BEPS forward.
DH: is it ok if not all BEPS are ready that wuickly?
AG: yes, they would like to stagger the completion timeline of BEPs ready for final review. establishing a priority/schedule would help with this.
CM: is there a timeline for the 'next release' after Dec/Jan
DH: should this come from Steering group?
AG: the heart is to get a commitment from BEPS for the December review
ACTION ITEM: YH can automate it to remove COI from steering group members that are BEP leads (email from bids.steering@gmail.com)
YH created a github issue for this:
**Maintainers Updates**
>[name=Camille] suggestion to move those updates earlier in BIDS steering meetings :)
**BIDS Discussions with Journals**
**BIDS steering elections?**
Shall we think about this yet?
Yes! maintainers have guided this in the past, lets ask Anthony if he has info
