* My kids fell in love with rental electric bikes in the summer heat in the Yucatan. It really changes the boundaries
* Citrix cycles (the bike share in Raleigh) are E-bikes. I’ve used them and they are definitely a game changer. I think they have a high usage as well.
* I saw a rider on a recumbent trike this evening on Fidelity St.

## From the Conversation
* Electric bikes are still relatively expensive with Tamara mentioning their starter model (admittedly high quality) is $2,400
* The [2020 NC BikeWalk Summit](https://www.bikewalknc.org/nc-bikewalk-summit/) in November has a theme of inclusive transportation and speakers like Arleigh Greenwald (electric and cargo cycling) could add good input to this concept.
* Chapel Hill PD already uses electric bikes. Is there some other local government use which could be a good starter project to build support?
* We've got a hilly area so electric assist really helps
* Electric assist example: Abraham's utility trike with trailer and several hundred pounds of load and a 250W motor. Average speed on 3 mile route from home to market goes from 7mph to 14mph. Without the trailer and 125lbs of load can average 20mph.
* Some on council reticent on e-bikes due to cost, but might be converted with a program that addresses this fully
* Bike Share hasn't tended to be inclusive of needs like stability
