Hwang Jae-won won the ‘Young Player of the Year Award’

Daegu FC CEO Cho Gwang-rae and Hwang Jae-won were recently honored with the Special Contribution Award and Young Player Award, respectively, at the '2023 KFA Awards' hosted by the Korea Football Association.

CEO Cho led the construction of DGB Daegu Bank Park, a soccer-specific stadium in Daegu, and was awarded the Special Contribution Award in recognition of his contributions to revitalizing local soccer and reviving the K-League. In particular, this award has a special meaning in that it was received as a representative of the many soccer players who have brought glory to Korean soccer in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korea Football Association.

Hwang Jae-won, who won the '2023 KFA Young Player of the Year Award', debuted on the professional stage when he joined Daegu FC in 2022, and showed mature skills on the K-League and national team stages in his second year as a professional in 2023. In particular, he had the best year in 2023 by taking charge of the right side of the national team at the Hangzhou Asian Games and helping them win the gold medal. The Young Player of the Year Award is given to the promising male and female player who performed the best throughout the year. As a member of the Korean men's Olympic soccer team, Hwang Jae-won will be called up for overseas training in January and will participate in training in Antalya, Turkey from the 14th to February 3.

Meanwhile, Daegu will depart for Chiang Rai, Thailand on the 9th to conduct the first overseas training camp and then move to Nam
