# Korean women's table tennis falls to China in 2 losses, threatens to miss final

The South Korean women's table tennis team (Shin Yoo-bin, Jeon Jeon-hee, and Lee Eun-hye) will face China in the quarterfinals of the women's table tennis team event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the South Paris Arena 4 in Paris, France, at 10 p.m. ET on Aug. 8.

The team event consists of one doubles match followed by two to five singles matches. The first team to take three matches wins the match. Eun Hye Lee took the first game 5-7 with a powerful backhand drive. However, she struggled with Sun Yingxia's powerful drives and excellent spins and lost 5-11.

With the momentum in her favor, Sun Yingxia took a 7-1 lead in game two with a powerful drive. Lee Eun-hye's momentum was short-lived as she made back-to-back errors and dropped game two 1-11.

A desperate Lee fought back to tie the game at 3-3 at the start of game three. She controlled the tempo and forced Sun Yingxia to make errors, but Sun Yingxia used her strong backhand and forehand drives to win eight points in a row to clinch the match.
