Currently, this is generally done by building a one-off solution for the specific community. TokenGator offers a solution to doing this manually by providing a platform that allows a community to define their documents, model the application process and manage the state of the document. It does this by leveraging Solana Token Extensions that allow to define behavior around ownership of a mint, and enables storing metadata on-chain. ## Use cases ### Dean's List Business Visa You can apply for a Business Visa if you want to earn money in Dean's List DAO. The current implementation works but has some limitations that are fixed by using Token Extensions. ### Access Document for Island DAO In order to control access to Island DAO facilities and events we will hand out a 'sol-bound' NFT. This NFT will have an expiration data and a 'membership level' that distinguishes between `staff`, `sponsor` `visitor` and `guest`. ### Others - Solana Mobile Chapter 2 - ... ## Basics - [X] Built on PubKey Stack - [X] Free, Open Source: MIT License - [X] CLI / SDK / API to integrate / composability - [X] Market it as a product/tool for teams - [ ] Custom Program to manage Presets - [ ] Integration with Solana Pay - [ ] Differentiate from PubKey!! - [ ] This is not about enforcing any permissions in Discord or similar, this is about issuing 'documents' to community members - [ ] x - [ ] Dynamic NFT (Image + Metadata) - [ ] NFTs keep track - [ ] Expiring NFTs - [ ] (GM bot) - [ ] (Hackathon Winners Document) ------------------------------------------- - [ ] Mint tokens with Token Extensions - [ ] Presets - [ ] UI for the presets - [ ] Application Process - [ ] Dynamic Image Generation - [ ] Payments (buy preset, buy NFTs) ------------------------------------------- - Mass-mint tokens (Airdrop) - Token Gates for minted tokens (API/SDK) - Waiting Lists - Sign up with Socials - Do Tasks (?) - Invite Others - Leaderboard - Claim Page - Check allocation - Claim it - Personizable - Snapshot existing communities - Auto-fill waiting lists - Create weighted combined lists, eg: - MadLads = 2x multiple - Monke = 3x multiple - Spin up DAO for tokens - Sphere Integration (paid projects/limits) ``` $49 | $99 | $999| --- | ------| -------| 1 |. 10 |. ∞ | Projects 1 |. 10 |. ∞ | Waiting Lists 500 |. 5000 |. ∞ | Verified Wallets 1 |. 10 |. ∞ | Linked Snapshots 2 |. 5 |. ∞ | Social Authentication ``` # TokenGator On-chain administration of DAO's and Network States. ## Community Most features in TokenGator are scoped per Community. ## Documents The community manages various documents with different properties. There are a number of fixed document types with different characteristics. ``` id: dl-be name: Dean's List BV type: BusinessVisa description: string ``` ### Document Types - Citizenship - Permanent access, no need for renewal - Residence - Permanent access, renewal - Business Visa - Temporary access, can earn in community - Visitor Pass - Temporary access, can't earn in community - Physical Access ## User Flow ### Onboarding new user - Visits community on the site - Sees the documents they manage with their details - Option to buy ## TokenGator Program Library I think the easiest way to reason about this program is to consider that: - a preset defines an NFT collection that can be created by a community - a community can create multiple collections based off 1 preset (Business Visa 2023, Business Visa 2024 with different rules, etc) - the collection created throught he preset is then controlled by the community 'fee payer' to mint NFTs in that collection - the communities buys a license for the preset. Funds to go the Instance 'fee payer' wallet (eg TokenGator). - the community member buys to mint an NFT. Funds go to Community 'fee payer' wallet. ### Feature: WNS Protocol Add support for creating a preset that mints NFTs using the [WNS](https://github.com/wen-community/wen-new-standard) program. This program has an implementation of the 'Group Pointer' extension enabled, which is leveraged in PubKey Link. Once this becomes officially available on Mainnet (somewhere after v1.18) we'll switch to that. ### Feature: Payments for preset The team hosting the TokenGator instance makes money by defining and maintaing the presets, configuring them, and sells usage licenses to the communities. Presets can be made free, if no payment information is defined. TokenGator will host a free devnet option for all of its presets, with a limit of 25 mints. So people can get a feel on what it's about. Communities pay a time-based license for using the 'presets', managing them and minting new NFTs into the colletion. If the payment is expired, the assets can no longer be managed by the program and are thus considered 'static'. (in the future, we'll work on a way to reclaim fees for abandoned collections) AddOn: Reminder for missed payments. If payment criteria are not met, downside to free plan. ### Feature: Track data on-chain Now that we have a document, we want to be abble to track events that are linked to the doucment: - We want to be able to add multiple activity lists - to a project. - They should have a label and start/end data. - Minter create ActivityAccount - nft1 (account) - gms (account, "gms".toBuffer(), '') - <point back to nft> - label - startDate - endDate - activities Vec<Activtiy>: - gm 1 - gm 2 - gm 3 - earnings (account, "earnings".toBuffer(), '') - earning 1, amount: 1200 - earning 2, amount: 1200 - bounties (account, "earnings".toBuffer(), '') - earning 1, amount: 1200 - earning 2, amount: 1200 - entries - nft2 - gms - earnings <!-- name needs to change --> - ActivityList - Linked to the NFT - label - startdate - enddate - Vec<Activity> ``` Activity: { timestamp: u64 message: string url?: string points?: number } ``` - NFT - Owned: You - Activity: - Check in at 9:am on Monday - Check out at 9:pm on Monday - Event Pass: user checks in (opt-in) - We can also track no-shows - people sign up for events but don't come - Social credit FTW! - Business Visa: - user earned money - allow Discord bot to track 'activity' on a NFT - GM Bot: user said GM - Gib Work: - Get a worker pass - Get a track record of each bounty you finish ### Data ### Business Visa - TokenGator admin creates a preset called 'Business Visa' with the following prices: - 49 USD/month for 100 NFTs - 249 USD/month for 1000 NFTs - 499 USD/year for 100 NFTs - 999 USD/year for 1000 NFTs - Dean's List community on TokenGator buys a license - The preset program will be invoked creating a new mint (eg, collection) based on the settings in that preset - The new mint contains info on the NFT limit - The new mint contains the date the payment expires - The community members can now mint up to 100 NFTs in this new collection. - The community admins can manage the mints of their members (change metadata, etc) ### Event Access - TokenGator admin creates a preset called 'Event Access' with the following prices: - 1 NFT 5 USD/month - 25 NFTs 50 USD/month - 500 NFTs 500 USD/month - 1000 NFTs 1000 USD/month - Island DAO community bys a license for 500NFTs - all the steps above apply - NFTs will be created with a QR code - tokengator provides mobile UI to scan NFTs to determine if someone can access the facilities/services ### Feature: Document Application (price/requirements) In this part, we describe the relation between the community and its members. As part of the preset, communities can charge for obtaining their 'document' (eg, asset in that collectiin). This is a way for the community to monetize their documents, and by default it should be set up in such a way that the fees for this service or paid for by the end user. Eg, for a preset that costs $50 USD/month for 100 items, the default unit price for minting an NFT in that collection will be $0.50USD/nft. It's up to the community to change this price to either make a profit or make this service free for their end users. Besides the price, the Requirements can also include linking certain social networks. We will require `Discord` as a default (but can be disabled), other providers that TokenGator supports are: `GitHub`, `Google`, `Twitter`. #### Business Visa - Dean's List bought a license for their business visa at $49USD/month for 100 NFTs - The price they charge for 1 BV is $5 which will make them a profit after selling more than 10 items per month. - They configured that a user needs to authenticate with `Discord` as well as a `Twitter` account. - The end user first has to comply with these social requirements, linking their socials to their account. - Once this is done, they will be able to mint the NFT based on the price that's set by the community. - Once this is done, the NFT lands in their wallet, PubKey picks this up and grants access to the required channels.
