--- title: About BED.MONEY tags: website-content --- # BED.MONEY - Bitcoin Every Day - UX Reserach lab - UX Research Partner We are creating an open repository of user personas and user research so open source bitcoin designers and developers can get more insights on their potential users and identify and address key UX challenges within financial payment systems and their projects. We do this by collecting and anonymising qualative research. We go to places where designers find it challenging to find information. The first research project we've conducted is on how people in fronteir markets collect, store, manage and move money. This project aims to to understand people's behaviours when dealing with money so we could learn what their frustrations and motivations are in different parts of the world. ### Why is bed money needed? 1. Creating software for a diverse audience requires us to understand diverse perspectives and problems. 2. Solving real world problems and not always designing for power users or happy states. ### For Open Source Contributors BED.MONEY is your partner in user experience research. Accessing a catalogue of different user personas, and archytpes from a variant of demographics. Understanding the motivations, traits and frustrations they find when using financial products. So you can better understand a wider audience of users. > Too often I either don’t use a persona (because I don’t have one available/time to deep dive into the research), or make up a “idel/power user” or just use myself as the use case. So I often end up overlooking users, and not addressing problems that I won’t be able to see. Bed Money gives me the personas, saving me time and providing vital information on who I’m designing for and what they like/don’t like about other products ### For startups and small companyies Finding quality research in certain georgraphics is limited. ###### REF - https://jancborchardt.net/usability-in-free-software - https://github.com/ipfs-inactive/user-research/wiki - https://uxdesign.cc/user-research-in-open-source-design-survey-case-study-c1713aebf86c - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/ux-research/-/issues/103 - https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/designing-better-user-experience-open-source-software - https://www.researchgate.net/publication/324659670_How_Do_the_Open_Source_Communities_Address_Usability_and_UX_Issues_An_Exploratory_Study/link/5c3e45a8299bf12be3cb2eca/download
