Since we cannot rely on precise data to understand user behaviour we've got to lean heavily on UX Research.

Open source teams are usually blind as to how end users interact with the tools they build.
Contributors, reviewers and maintainers work with simmilar bias to each other.

#### Under Funded
UX Research is expensive, underfunded and in open-source there is often times the resources to allocate to research efforts.
So contributors make design + technical decisions get made by through personal preferences/opinions
and very technical teams usually don't have the context to get hardly rarely
