# Linx Card
> InfoLink Services Limited (‘ISL’) was incorporated on the 13th of September, 1994. A Joint Venture between the four Major Financial Institutions in Trinidad and Tobago, InfoLink was created initially to provide a local debit card switching infrastructure with the vision for providing further co-operative financial service initiatives in the future.

- Althoguh not in all cases, it is usually tied to the person's salary account. The account is in TTD.
- Visa Debit on the other hand is for a foreign currency.
- People buy USD to put on this card from the bank or in the streets, and put it onto the card.
- Linx is integrated into the bank more closely than the Visa system.

The local banks are converting their linx cards to a visa debit.

Local banks are trying to get into the online payment space — so they're adding Visa/Mastercard to their card product.

All banks shares in the Linx entity.
