--- title: Script, Gordian Introduction tags: pieces robots: noindex, nofollow --- The Gordian system is a family of apps that allows you to transact Bitcoins in a way that's safe, secure, and self-sovereign. It begins with the GordianServer, a Bitcoin full-node that's automatically created by Blockchain Commons' Bitcoin Standup technology, which you can run on a MacOS or Linux computer. Or, if you prefer, you can use any other full node of your choice: _self-sovereign means you decide_. You can then use a QR Code generated by QuickConnect, a standardized API used by Bitcoin Standup and other full-node creators, to link the full node you choose to the GordianWallet app on iOS. The default setup is secure because your mobile wallet is always needed to send Bitcoin transactions — either because it has the only key in a "hot wallet" account or because it and your node each have one of three keys in a 2-of-3 "warm wallet" account. If you want an even higher level of security, you can create an entirely airgapped system using the LetheKit and GordianSigner, also from Blockchain Commons. The LetheKit is a do-it-yourself hardware project that can be used to create offline seeds. It will generate BIP39 mnemonic phrases or a QR code to support watch-only monitoring and signing. GordianSigner is an app for Android, iOS, and MacOS that can then be used to sign PSBTs generated by your GordianServer, using a seed created by your LetheKit. Safe. Secure. Self-sovereign.
